The FB media release. Jesus f@cking H Over 6 minutes of 'building something'... At least the incidental music throughout gripped me. Sadly though, by my effing cojones.
Watching this back you really see how the quality of football and passion has deteriorated, there used to be 3-4 runners into the box following every through ball - how many of these 'follow ups' would we score now?
Was this in relation to Rob Edwards - that went well then! Guess the Pozzos weren't involved or consulted over such a video.
Absolutely we were. Joyous stuff. Seems a long time ago. How good must Udinese have been to just gift us Vydra, Abdi, FF, etc ??
Not as good as they are now, one point off the top of Serie A thanks to players we have gifted them. The irony.
Think it’s akeays I think it’s always easy to look back with rose tinted specs . Yes the Zola football was remarkable to watch and there were some great moments that season. But this is the side that simply didn’t show up at Wembley and 5 months later we were limping to A 3-0 defeat home to Yeovil . So at various points since that season we have seen better performances than that .
I can’t remember anymore but I am sure I felt like they tried but were ‘off’ in those games rather than (when I posted that) the PL performances where they clearly weren’t putting in an effort at all and just throwing in the towel at 1 down. If I remember correctly it was the most terrible play-off final ever and the only notable event in the whole match was Cassetti tripping Zaha or somebody in the box. They were chokers but not quitters.
It was an awful game but CP were far better than us. We didn’t deserve to be level before the Cassetti pen.
I don’t remember anymore as it was almost 10 years ago(!), I just remember thinking both teams were **** on the day and knew a penalty would separate it.
I was fuming after the absolutely limp Wembley showing. There was absolutely no guts at all that day. It's been a relatively frequently recurring theme ever since.
Almunia and Doyley were the only players who turned up for the Playoff Final - with out them we'd have been hammered. The attitude in the club leading up to the match seemed to be one of the result was a forgone conclusion, possible because of the final minute against Leicester. One of the biggest disappointments ever up to that point watching Watford. Not the loosing but the way it happened.
