Oh yes...imagine. bloody glued to it they are. I keep getting little 5 minute sections of the ceremony. One old girl i got dressed this morning didn't want her normal flowery undercrackers. Solemn black specially for the day...
I'd hate to think what Muggeridge (who was also a bit of a stick in the mud at times) would make of the BBC today and it chasing the ratings, dumbing down and the salaries paid to some.
Well done to the AOC for having a dig at politicians. How is it many of these corrupt venal people gathered inside God's church have the nerve to do so ? Beats me.
There would have been a coffin IBB made out of plywood sourced from an illegal plantation and a hearse that had not seen a service for several years.
Not what I was saying. This was about how useful ‘soft power’ is. It’s probably very useful to the powerful and worth very little to the rest of us.
My nephew was “first reserve” to be a pallbearer. Don’t think my nerves could have taken it if he’d had to do it.
True, but it’s not a wild notion to consider them part of the Establishment. Their existence has been used to manipulate behaviour for hundreds of years. We are not so deferential that we will go over the top to our doom these days for ‘God, King and Country’ but the resistance to a lot of daft stuff is neutralised by peoples patriotic loyalty and what those feelings and emotions translate to in votes.
Yeah, they've done an excellent job under intense scrutiny. Hope Charles pops round in the coming weeks to say thanks.
He was a right pain to the Pythons. Rightly they won their argument while Malcolm was left sputtering away with his chum Mary Whitehouse.
It's OK. I collect my own urine in a bucket and use that. The downside is it's taken 4 years to clean half the patio. The upside is we don't get many cats in the garden.
Spooky comment from the ITV coverage.. https://mobile.twitter.com/goulcher/status/1571881561041293313
The spider, the piece of paper and Emma the horse and Paddy and Muick the corgis at Windsor. Kirsty Wark broke me right at the end. What a send off!
Didn’t watch any of it yesterday as was travelling back from Wales from a weekend break, watched the highlights from the bit they entered Windsor (as I used to live there) and I have to say it was very impressive and quite moving at times.
She must have been there as the official representative of the Greenham Common protesters. I'm relieved she didn't do one of her 'abolish the monarchy' tirades.
