The Queen

Folk getting really vexed about queue jumpers on Twitter and elsewhere, Holly and Phil coming in for a particular savaging for just rocking up to Her Maj’s coffin without the necessary 13 hour self-flagellation.

But it is a bit odd to read all the anger about privilege from people queuing to pay their respects to possibly the World’s most privileged person. I mean try to form a meaningful sentence out of these words, joined, the, time, when, orderly, Queen, waited, turn, queue, the, an, and, her.

 

No Gordon the Gopher, no party.

 

I think this is just a Twitter pile on tbh.

This Morning issued a statement saying that Schofield and Willoughby were both working. The lanyards they are wearing are their journalist accreditations and the footage of them inside the hall shows that they were taken around the edge of the queue towards the area where the reporters were.

It's bonkers that we have, in the space of 10 days, pulled together the largest meeting of world leaders ever. I don't think any other country in the world could do that. And every country in the world wishes they could.

It's a ridiculous amount of soft power. Far more so than our own PM has.

Sure it's weird that we put these posh folk in gilded cages and get them to shake hands and hand out prizes, but boy does it work.

 

And all they have to do is die once in a while. Fair deal.

 

We also invented all the top sports. We rock!

Shame so many people are too poor to heat and eat, but you can’t have everything.

I don’t think they did anything wrong in this instance. They were doing their job. Complaining about them getting access is a bit like going to a gig and moaning that the roadies get to go nearer the stage than you.
