He, like a lot of our players wasn't outstanding in the Prem, but unlike the rest, he's not a clogger and is the exact type of midfielder we need
Louza has signed a new long-term contract. Extended until 2028. Happy with that. Official: Louza Signs Fresh Long-Term Deal! - Watford FC
Seems everyone is pinning their hopes on him coming good to improve the midfield but remember he has been out for a while so will need time to get fully match fit etc . Probably be ready just in time for the next manager !!
Another one who will waste his formative years and key period for his development with us. Whatever they're paying him isn't worth it.
Nothing to see here - will literally be giving him back what he lost due to the relegation clause to keep him happy.
Did he get an assist or goal so far? I can't be bothered with even trying to think about this club atm.
These extensions are purely to secure us more money in the summer. Lol at people on Twitter who think JP and Louza want to stay here until 2028!
Or we can afford to ! Some people are very gullible though as we have seen over recent months. Hence why people are so upset Edwards has gone because they though he was the one to stay long term just because Duxbury said so.
We could be a League One club at that point. Not saying it's going to happen, but it's certainly not beyond the range of this club the way things are handled off the pitch. We have such a thin squad now that any major injuries (as we are seeing now) is causing huge downfalls in how we play against even the lesser sides in this division. I only hope Bilic is enough of a motivator to at least keep us in touch with promotion at least till January, when we can hopefully make a few improvements.
Yes I agree, a positive for everyone including Bayat. I wonder if he got a little paycheck for helping to negotiate the deal?
I know this is tongue in cheek but this ongoing narrative amongst some that those who are steadfast in their criticism of the club and the way it's run actually want the club to fail, is and has always been truly laughable. Those who lap up the seemingly never ending incompetence & negligence of our board and this the downward spiral we are on, are the ones who are clearly content with and find enjoyment in mediocrity and/or failure.
Yes tongue in cheek but you'll be aware there are posters who have openly said they want us lose while Pozzo owns the club and that a 24th place finish would be perfect this season. Criticism is good. I criticise but not as much as a few on here. Criticising club management at the moment is akin to shooting fish in a barrel. Hopefully the pendulum swings sooner rather than later.
As many have repeatedly explained, surely you can understand the concept of making a sacrifice for the greater good? Surely it’s not difficult to fathom why some fans may prefer short term pain, over much longer drawn out pain? Like the last three years playing out into the endless future?
Of course. The greater good being that Gino is less likely to sell as his asset value drops ? The most likely exit for Gino would be getting promoted and selling at peak value this summer. Poor results hound out an underperforming manager. They don't push an owner to sell at a trough in valuation.
What does short-term pain look to you and how does it end? I've seen a few people say they hope we lose (some tongue in cheek, others not so sure) a number of games and even hope we get relegated. I'm not being critical as I share those anti-owner feelings but I'm genuinely interested.
You’re living in some fantasy land where a multi billionaire suddenly swoops in and buys Watford the moment we’re promoted even though it hasn’t happened before. You must’ve also missed the Bloomberg article from yesterday that states Gino wants investment but to remain in charge of sporting maters, aka, nothing will change in that scenario. You’re also missing the fact Pozzo himself bought us as a potless championship club.
If the last 3 years were to play out on repeat for the next 15 years (I don't think it will), it would rank as one of the most successful periods in the club's history. I think it speaks to the shift in expectations the Pozzo's have facilitated, that the club consistently being one of the top 22 ranked in the country would be seen as long drawn out pain, when 50+ clubs in the pyramid would bite your hand off for that death sentence.
I think that's your fantasy land TBH, assuming the next owner will be better, lovely management style and perhaps establish us in the prem ? I'm just saying poor results are unlikely to drive an owner to sell as the value he would get would be at its lowest for 10 years. If I was him I would sell the minute promotion is confirmed, if we are promoted. I would have sold during the last run in the prem and used some of the cash to buy Charlton. If he can get a good MI investment then maybe he will think he can still compete at that level. I'm not sure too many people will be prepared to invest at a high valuation and leave Gino 100% of the control. Even less so if we aren't promoted. However there are always a few mega-rich idiots out there .
Are you sure you’re not Henry Hooter? Literally like talking to a brick wall. For the trillionth time, nobody is equating different owners to more successful owners.
Haha, I love your warm friendly debating style . I'm sure some are expecting us to be more successful than we are currently under Gino, but fine. My main point, as you know, was that wanting us to lose is not likely to push up values and tempt Gino to sell unless he gets a silly offer. He's far more likely to sell at peak value when times are good, before they turn sour again. He may of course be an egotistical idiot though.
Why are you so angry, and why do you find it so difficult to have a discussion with someone who has a different viewpoint?
