He's only gone and done it again. I hope some of you are suitably embarrassed tonight for vilifying such an upstanding individual that does so much for our club.
I know you are excited and like to go on vendetta laps after every win, but take a look at yourself if you are actually cheerleading Bayat. Hopefully you are joking.
Oh Jesus you thought this was serious hahahaha I really tried to make it as obvious as possible with the 'upstanding individual' bit, but apparently not obvious enough for some...
Dunno mate. Some of your posts over last 2 months I simply don’t know anymore. At least we are agreed Bayat is a plague on our club and Pozzo should have no business with him.
I don't want to talk about the legal side of things here, but we all know he has a court case next year. What worries me is any negative impact it could have on us as a club? I'm talking about being heavily fined for something perhaps? If that's the case we could be in serious trouble.
Nothing to see here… Read the entire thread. https://twitter.com/baitvic/status/1570534216466862081?s=46&t=uMURNxPHZ0vsVjG-j-E0uA
It's interesting for sure but putting a sceptical hat on I'm not sure what this really proves. I'd already priced in that Bayat's links with Pozzo were likely to come from mutual acquaintances and business interests - it's the only way the shovelling of cash in his direction in recent seasons makes sense.
Knowing our luck after Mogi’s court appearance in 2023 we will find out we are intrinsically linked to all this and start next season with one of those comedy 30 point reductions after the EFL have a sniff around. Reckon people will still defend the way we are run even if that happens!
Is he involved in this sorry tragic saga at all or is this more from Cardiff's end and the agents they used? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-62594529
From what I understand the saga had little to do with Bayat. Nantes sold Sala. Cardiff got him a ticket on a commercial flight. Sala wanted to stay to say goodbye to friends and team mates so asked to be booked on a later plane. The person who brokered the transfer paid a trained pilot to collect him. That pilot couldn't do it, so asked a gas fitter who did not have a licence to take paid passengers, or fly in the dark, to pick him up. On the way to France, the plane made a large banging noise, there was a haziness in the cockpit and various people commented that the plane was falling apart, but he went ahead with the return flight anyway. So very little to do with Bayat. But there have been some questions about whether the transfer fee received was funnelled through offshore jurisdictions: "Nice insist that that particular deal took place 100% within FIFA rules, but Cardiff’s lawyer, Ma*tre Antoine Vey, asserted last July that he suspects Nantes of money laundering, tax fraud and money laundering large-scale capital and cash payments. It is believed that the €17m does not correspond at all to the actual transfer fee but a price negotiated between several dubious intermediaries who have helped themselves in the process, by operating through subsidiaries in Panama or through direct cash payments in order to hide the illegality." https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...tre-as-part-of-investigation-into-mogi-bayat/
Yes basically sounds like they all knew the plane was dodgy but as you say carried on with the flight leading this tragic event . Pretty shameful from a lot involved and a young life lost in all of this . Read the main agent involved was Willie McKay who has a suspect reputation.
At least we do business properly and would never go in for that 'dual representation' thing: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65097761
It seems that the dual representation thing - i.e. legally saving on having to pay more tax - is doing business properly.
Though not a named club in this report, I suspect we're champions of this type of practise. It doesn't look like clubs have too much to answer for though, as long as all parties agreed to duel representation before the transfer took place. The rules (as always) need to be improved if the HMRC want to stop duel representation from occurring. I think they'll look at all the actives surrounding clubs involved and will make an example out of one of them. Watford will be deducted 100 points for the next 10 years, and the rest will be asked to please stop doing it.
Difference being that most other clubs will have used an agent who, whilst very very likely underhand and shady (because they all are), won’t be up on fraud charges. Us….? *tugs short collar nervously*
You know those who thought Manga meant no more Bayat? Bayat brokered the deal to get Hoedt to the club.
There was a story on French daily sports paper L'Équipe about cuddly Mogi a few days ago. His activities related to Nantes have interested an investigating judge in France. Article is behind a paywall: https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Art...-agent-mogi-bayat-proche-du-fc-nantes/1390935 However there's a translation of the key points here: https://www.insideworldfootball.com...inal-probe-belgian-football-agent-mogi-bayat/ So that's an advanced investigation in Belgium and a potential investigation in France.
Fake news. I doubt any of this is true. Our club would never align itself with such people. People are just jealous of how many amazing deals he’s done for all of the clubs he’s involved with.
