Just our luck isn’t it . Not fully fit then gets unwell so cannot get fit. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20813024.watford-boss-discusses-keinan-davis-ruled-now/
Back in training, but not in contention for tomorrow according to the Wobby. In contention for Rotherham? **** knows, bloke will have broken his leg by then probably!
I've heard the incessant sneezing from whatever lurgy he contracted has left him with an ongoing back spasm. Make of that what you will.
Looked very lively when he came on. Was convinced he’d make the difference, but then Rotherham’s time wasting stopped us dead.
He’ll be worth the 15 million if we go up as no one else is likely to get goals ! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...riker-davis-wants-promotion-secures-15m-move/
Sorry but how is 15m for a striker who's scored 9 senior goals at the age of 24 a good deal? That's money you pay for a proven scorer not a punt who isn't all that young either.
In the words of Tommy Mooney: "I worked with him at Villa. He's like a Number 9 that doesn't score goals" Glowing reference indeed.
Would be hilarious if we somehow went up with him barely playing/being **** and were saddled with paying £15 million for a striker that both Villa and Forest deemed not good enough for the Premier League.
If a miracle happens and we do go up I can see Pozzo trying to wriggle out of the deal somehow. We could get about 3 Bayat players for that amount instead.
If he plays well this season, which he probably would have for us to win promotion, as a striker he would be worth that anyway.
Let's be honest, if his name was Philippe Dia and he came from Belgium like Bayo we would be absolutely wringing the board for that clause. 9 senior goals at 24. He better make it worth it! Seems a good down to earth lad though so no doubt he will work hard for it to be so.
Well we won’t be paying it if we don’t go up and we’ll probably be relying on him for goals so yes Davis will certainly need to improve his ratio. Anyway we’ll probably try to wiggle our way out of paying that much or it will be the usual instillments . Seems more of a get the ball to him and he’ll bring others onto play which Bayo and co don’t do. Might work well with Pedro and Sarr if we ever get them on the pitch at the same time .
Very similar player to Marlon King. Both came here around the same age, and with relatively underwhelming scoring records. I think if we do now start to click, he'll have a very good chance of hitting 20 goals
Lovely finish yesterday. Really clean strike. If he stays fit, I think he’ll get 15+ with relative ease.
Don’t disagree (how can one after 2 goals in 250 mins) but I also think it’s not imperative he does so since we’ll have Sarr and Pedro hopefully chipping in with 10+ and Bayo consistently getting goals off the bench. What he offers that no else does is that capacity to haul us up the pitch. I’ve been a little underwhelmed by his dribbling which I was very excited about as one of his key attributes based on what I saw while he was at Forest but I have found his presence in competing for or chasing long balls or pressing opposition defenders when they’re on the ball has won us lots of free kicks and throw ins up the field. So crucial.
I think there's a lot more to come from him. Don't forget he only played 15 games for Forest and had a lengthy spell out even for us. It's going to take a bit of time before we really see the best of him, but so far I'm very happy about what he's bringing to the team.
Agreed. I think his ball-carrying will improve as he reached full fitness and sharpness. He is seriously good in possession when fit and will be wonderful to watch.
