I guess the football gods thought they'd given us enough already through that goal!

It was a shocker, and reminded me of the last time QPR beat us.

Spend the whole of pre season looking to play 3 at the back, then revert to playing 4 to fit players in. Seems like a manager that isn't confident enough in his own decisions.

Kaba and Sierralta were shocking, but they were left one v one by two absolutely horrendous full backs.

Back to Watford ruining my weekend. Fml

Took my dog Buster on his final journey before the match, got nothing to say about the game really. Buster was nearly 16, lived a happy life and was quite active up until the last 6 months, lost my best mate today.

Given JP had the whole goal to aim at I actually thought he simply should have scored. We weren't "robbed" by him missing the target.

It's deeply upsetting to lose a beloved animal.
May you have many happy memories of Buster.
You have given him a wonderful life.

Kabasele as Captain also shows a real lack of forward planning over the past few seasons, along with the obvious piss weak squad

Quite, so the idea that we should have set up to be even more open than that seems odd.

Incredibly frustrating. QPR are not particularly good. Our inability to defend or play the ball through the pitch is exasperating.

I thought we were unlucky to lose. Sema sticks that in after masterful run by Sarr. João sticks the lob in. Game done.

    A frustrating afternoon .

Played ok in patches but we were awful defensively!

VAR would have been busy today .

Both full backs were poor and Kabasele certainly wasn’t a leader .

Pedro best player again - I hope he was just injured rather than anything else when storming off straight at full time

Spot regarding the back four. Sieralta answering all those who backed him, with an inept display. No wonder he barely played last season. But as you say the full backs for their second and third should hang their heads in shame.

What worries me is that we are so slow when we have the ball. We are pedestrian in possession and we are too easy to play against.
Where is the pace, the intensity and a game plan?
Has Edwards already shot his load?
Very, very poor today. We didn't deserve anything from the game as we were playing at a snails pace.
Teams will come at us and we are slow and lacking in confidence. Teams will know that Edwards is now under pressure.
What has been said about Kiko is totally correct. Ok, his defending wasn't great but he played like a winger and gave Sarr great support. His is greatly missed.
Gaspar is an old man at this level and couldn't pass water.
Boro will turn us over easily. They just have to play with a quick tempo as we cannot match it.
    Is Edwards time up?

I don't know about that, we quite simply haven't backed him enough. What is he supposed to do when he's tried Kamara at RWB, and it hasn't worked, but Gaspar looks equally out of place there?

Watching Sierralta and Kabasele attempting to pass should be a torture technique. No pace on the pass, constantly to a player's weaker foot and pass selection is baffling. Sierralta is passable in the middle of a back three but in a two he's all over the place. Nothing needs to be said about Kabasele, it's all been said before yet here he is captaining our football club. None of our centre backs can pass a football, the club clearly don't care because they've neglected it for at least 5 years.

Gaspar is a busted flush. No aggression, no pace, seemingly no technical ability and no stamina. Someone at the club thought he was a good option for the Championship, it's a disgraceful decision.

I'm not even sure Kamara is any good after watching that today. Terrible passing, moronic decision making and just generally sloppy. And that was playing in his favoured position!

Kayembe will do one good thing and follow it up with five misplaced passes. He's a backup player yet he's started every game this season. Why? Why is this guy starting for us? Why have the club not signed a midfielder that can pass a ball this summer?

Today was a real eye-opener as to how terrible a lot of our squad are. Basic passing seemed like a struggle and the decision making was even worse. At any other club they'd probably act on today and bring in reinforcements but we're Watford, let's stick with what we've got and let the HC try and mould something from this huge pile of sh*t we've given him. It's not like we have money to do anything in the market anyway, the calamitous Pozzo has pissed it up the wall on fat players and Bayat players.

    F*ck off Pozzo.

Totally unacceptable. The one thing I ask is not to be beaten at home by QPR. Now it’s happened, they will be breaking out the tins of Pink Salmon in Shepherds Bush. It will be fireworks all night down Hayling Road.

What hurts is that they were allowed to win that game despite putting out a team that on paper should be played off the park by Watford.

Edwards has a big weekend now to ensure we get a home win on Tuesday.

So far this season we haven't really dominated a game and dictated the tempo which is a necessity for a team looking to challenge at the top of the league.

Can anybody with a closer view, or a stream let me know what happened just before our second?

From where I was (directly behind but back row) it looked like the QPR defender on the floor intentionally handballed it to block a tap in, but Pedro scored the ricochet... I'm guessing that's not what happened, as surely that's serious foul play and a red card regardless of whether we played on.

I’d much rather we offloaded Pedro and Sarr and got the finances absolutely sorted. Seeing Bournemouth lose 9-0 today reminded me of why I don’t want promotion. We will be in a similar position to Muff if we got promoted, with limited funds, and we would get smashed to bits every week. The PL has moved on quite a bit since we first got promoted, and is awash with money. Of course if we get new owners with deep pockets that would change things. Would rather we built and entertaining championship club with some players like Asprilla, playing in a league where we can hold our own.

I don’t dislike Kayembe but his scanning takes far too long. He takes 4/5 touches to see what the danger is and then plays a sideways ball, slows us down so much. Very boring and frustrating to watch.

There was a definite handball but only after their defender felt he was fouled. That was what all the QPR grief to the referee was about.

And it's definitely not a red card if a goal results immediately afterwards I'm afraid.

If you attempt to stop a goal with your hand but it still goes in it's a yellow card. I'd imagine that would fall under that umbrella, or stopping a promising attack, also a YC.

Just checked and the defender...wasn't booked. Cheers Keith.

Although it's always frustrating to lose, I thought it was an entertaining and open game, compared to some to the tedious stuff we've served up so far this season, and if Kayembe's stunner had been allowed, it probably would have been a fair result.

The lino at the Rookery End was the worst I've seen in years, constantly looking for the ref's approval before making any sort of decision, including at one point, waiting so long that the throw in had been taken before he put his flag up! Unfortunately when he finally got the courage to flag for something it was when we were on the attack and disallowed a goal of the season contender. Typical.

Also that bench was absolute rubbish, can't change a game if that's all you've got available.
