Yoshihito Nishioka keeps up his impressive run in Washington beat Rublev.

Will face Kyrgios in the final.

I would not have called that although Nishioka has improved considerably in the last 18 months and Ruble can still implode, like Tsitsi he wants it too much.

Medivet beats Norrie 6&0 in Mexico.

Knepi receives a WO v Samsonova, just like Hazelwood have from East Gloucester in the National 50s knock out. After only 127 emails too!

My word tennis has some weird women!
We've just beaten Kimpton ( Limpton?) in the Hot Rackets competition.

One of their first pair had a neurosis about a ball at the net,had to have her partner,a perfectly sensible and sane ex GP,move it off the court. Zero chance of it interfering with play.

At 0-30,0-5,1 set down she requested it be moved. Her partner, who I've known for a very long time, raised her eyes at me and smiled sardonically.

Dozy bint also questioned why a Middlesex team were in the Hertfordshire League.

We told her we were invited when another club withdrew last minute and that numerous Middlesex clubs play in various Hertfordshire competitions and vice versa.

Disappointing start to the North American leg of the year for Raducanu.

Beaten in straight sets by Giorgi.

Giorgi is very tough when she's on, that's a hard draw.

Her mother makes her clothes too!

She's decent and they all know about ER now.
People need to lower their expectations and she needs to spend more time doing her day job.

Better news for Jack Draper and Dan Evans though against higher ranked players?

Not a fan of young Jack?

Don't see him as a good hope for the future...

    EDIT: fair enough.

I do tend to agree unless they are playing Davis Cup or something or at Wimbledon where the crowd will support the home player.

I know his mum and dad and have absolutely nothing against him but I'll always support Tsitsi.
I don't do patriotism in an individual sport.
Nothing against JD, he's doing well.

Biggest win of Jack Draper's career beating Tsitsipas in straight sets.

Also strong result for Dan Evans beaten Rublev.

    Well there's a surprise!
I seem to recall mentioning something along these lines last time Tsitsi lost to a lower ranked player.
    When did he last play?
When he lost to Kyrgios at The Championships.
    Six weeks ago.
    What's he done?
Has he improved his slice? I didn't see the match so don't know but it'll take more than six weeks at 24 to make such changes and why has a club player got a better feel/grip on that shot than the world 5?
Has he been working with a sports psychologist to address his anger issues?
    Such a waste.
Well done Draper but it was 90% likely in my book.

Meanwhile congratulations to the utter chump at Hobblesdon that belittled Daniel,an autistic boy I coach.
This man's ball had come onto our court, actually onto court 5,I was on 6,his four on 4.
When Dan didn't return the ball immediately this berk said " Hello, anyone at home?" then returned laughing to his companions. Fortunately they didn't laugh with him.
    Daniel was visibly upset.
He doesn't understand sarcasm but he can recognise cruelty and sneering.
This man is an ex Met Police officer and has form for aggressive and rude behaviour.
The LTA have a new document on behaviour in clubs.
    Good.
I'm going to print a copy and shove it up his ****.
    Shameful.

    Gael retires v JD.
Swiatek out to Haddad Maia, probably the most improved player on the WTA Tour.

And Elliswick don't want to play a two pair ( open age group) doubles match on Sunday as it's " too hot"!
Meanwhile a teammate travels to Malvern to play a county match, singles and doubles ( 50s).
Without wishing to be unkind most of these ladies don't run /can't run enough to be endangering their health and against our first pair that won't be an issue anyway.
What a spineless group of ninnies the inhabitants of the shires have become.
    Pathetic.
Play the game while you can.

Is that Evans’ first ever Masters semi final ?

If Djokovic and Nadal don’t play in the US open the tournament could be very wide open potentially..

Sabalenka playing with all the subtlety of a Chieftain Tank rolling over a Lego model, brutalizes her way past Zhang.

A cross between Medea and Peggy Mount she is the epitomy of the "Hard,Harder,Hardest" brigade.

Do not expect to see any slice, drop shots or deft volleying. Expect the balls to be barely fit for your dog.
