He's been linked with PL moves all summer, so always seemed unlikely. Perhaps of more concern for us is that Armstrong started again and scored, then Hasenhuttl spoke well of him after the match: "Hasenhuttl hinted after the game that Armstrong could be set for a more important role this season up front for Saints, having been restricted to being a bit-part player at times last term as he made 28 appearances in all competitions, with the 25-year-old only completing 90 minutes twice in the second half of the season after the turn of the year. "It is always important for a striker and this is the goal this season for him," Hasenhuttl said. "The first season is always tough, but this season he should get more chances to play and chances to score."" https://www.hampshirelive.news/spor...senhuttl-southampton-monaco-armstrong-7390055
Playing every minute for a poor bottom-quartile Championship Hull side is not that big of a deal. As I said, he's got time on his side, but I'm not yet convinced.
I'd love Armstrong here but that doesn't sound promising that he's off. I suppose we can see how they start and who else joins the Saints.
He's started following a Monza player on Instagram, probably nothing in it. Hopefully he p!sses off soon, I'm assuming we won't be bringing in a defender until he goes.
It certainly looks that way which annoys the living **** out of me. Hause now being looked at by Bournemouth too.
Tough call given the financial situation. The minute we sign a replacement we lose all negotiating ability in selling Samir. If Muff were interested in Hause he wouldn’t have signed for us anyway. Hopefully in next 48 hrs we have a one out one in double transfer as we did with Femenia.
Fingers crossed still hoping for Clarke who is at least fit. As I said before my Derby mate said he's 100% better than anything we have, faster than he looks, comfortable with the ball and can pass .
Hopefully high. He sat on their bench all game yesterday for Brighton’s friendly. Similar to Laird, at this point if you’re not getting minutes this close to the season starting then you’re probably not in the managers plans.
Sure. I think a loan is likely. Just wondered what our chances are vs others who are likely to be after him.
Without trying to sound too reckless with the club's limited finances, I think at this stage, with a fair bit recouped in transfers, we can at least try to bring a LCB in concurrently to selling Samir, I don't think we're risking large sums here considering he's probably only worth about £2m and probably not on a fair whack in wages given the (presumed) wage cut. Besides, if he does end up staying, as long as he has a semblance of professionalism, it won't be a bad thing to have two LCBs, I wouldn't want us to be one injury/suspension from having Cathcart there
Monza’s no.1 target was Marlon at Shakhtar and they got him. They have also signed Carboni who is a left footed CB, so I can’t see them being in for Samir. If I was a betting man I would say this talk of him joining Monza is nonsense. Will still end up in Italy but not there.
I think we can get a lot better player in on loan than Samir, never rated him to be honest, has a mistake and a loose pass in him just like our other CBs. Clarke, Sierralta and Gaspar would be a great back 3 with Kamara as LWB and Laird as RWB. HMS PTL written all over that back 5.
Find it slightly odd he is not involved but Dennis and Sarr are. I assumed he had a move already all tied up but that doesnt seem to be the case.
Rather than us waiting for Samir to leave it could be that we aren't letting him leave until we get our replacement sorted.
He's been very busy trying to find a buyer. My sources say he's offered Samir to Watford FC 16 times so far.
If you believe AL’s Twitter space thingy, he was saying that we have received offers from South American teams which is certainly one to watch, along with everything else being one to watch.
I know a lot of clubs aren’t flowing with cash, but surely 3 or 4 teams in Brazil can afford £3-4mil.
