28th July - 8th August. Fingers crossed for 12 days of top class sport.

Not quite top class in most cases since it’s the Commonwealth Games, but it’s usually good fun.

It's usually a good standard though and a great proving ground for any up and coming talent. Watch out for Jeremiah Azu of Wales, the current UK 100 M champion. His 9.90 winning time was unfortunately slightly windy so he didn't qualify for the Worlds. Also, good to watch the Home Nations boxers duff up the Aussies in the ring too.

Dunno... Manpreet Singh the best hockey player in the world in a very good Indian side (FIH ProLeague winners).

In 2018, Ozzy Osbourne promises Black Sabbath would reform for Birmingham 2022 Opening Ceremony. Errr, perhaps not.

Great that the disabled events are part of the main games not separate

That was a really good Triathlon. Well done Alex Yee. What a good start to the Games.

Ah, so close. Almost a Gold for Wales in the Tandem B. Well done Scotland who needed to break the Games record.

Aussies look like they will dominate in the pool but very young Canadian won her event by almost half a lane !

Was watching the boxing yesterday, some very entertaining bouts, and was impressed with young Welsh light-heavyweight boxer Taylor Bevan. Lightning fast hands and a punch Welsh Legend Head Coach Colin Jones would be proud of. He dispatched a very hardy New Zealander with 2 body punches which had me wincing.

What a **** up in the men's marathon

The leader took a wrong turn near the end as there was nobody to point him in the right direction through the maze that was the end of the marathon course!!! Luckily he had such a lead he still managed to go on and win gold, but had it cost him it would have been unforgivable. How can something like that happen in what is supposed to be a world class event?

Whoever was in charge should be sacked IMO

There was a shortage of volunteers for the Games so this could have had a direct or indirect impact. Embarrassing though.

Women gymnasts, like the Men, doing us proud again. Good performance from a very young Wales team who weren't far off a Bronze.

Jeez, I don't know enough about track cycling but I suppose there will be a lot of focus on the design of the outside barrier/wall and the proximity of that seating. Surely it shouldn't be possible to have a collision like that?

Chris Hoy said they should put a screen around the track..

Not often you see Adam Peaty lose a race or even not medal but has been out injured for a while.

He's hardly raced this year, has missed a chunk of training, so the result was unsurprising. Good day for England with Gold medals in the Gymnastics and the various Triathlon flavours. Very good day for Wales, a Gold in the Tandem sprint with a Silver and 4 Bronze. Each medal is cheered most heartily.

Yes ,that superb as were her post-race disbelieving comments.

Welsh boxer Taylor Bevan once again demonstrating the dynamite he has in his lightning hands by dispatching a really tough Samoan in the third round after wearing him down with standing counts in the first and second. Really impressed with him as is Richie Woodhall.

You can watch it here at 2:57:07 onwards:

Steve Backley lets the cat out of the bag regarding the women's Discus Final calling it not a high quality field. Also, only 9 runners in the men's 10,000 metres final, WTF!!! There were 15 in 2018.

Apparently nations were limited on how many athletes they could have but that isn’t a good look in what would be a very competitive race Commonwealth wise .
