That would surely mean it's Matt Clarke? Freudian slip perhaps? If we've already done the negotiations today (with rumours of negotiations with a mystery club having already taken place) then maybe he also feels confident in mentioning them by saying we're doing things differently? Or maybe he's peeved because Derby loaned him to Brum instead of us?! Considering he talks about doing the smart business of loan deals in the interview though, and Bielik is also rumoured to be leaving Derby on loan to someone, that does hint that there's something in it.
Yes, though Zinc's role was just as "central" as Garner's and Davis' at least (Spence was their star player and ended up the biggest coup they had on loan).
Don’t see much difference in the impact of Zinckernagel and Davis or Garner to be honest so don’t think we can say he didn’t mean him. Problem with Leventhal is I genuinely think he reads these pages and puts names in. Who knows, Duxbury could be lying about Greaves - but he’s been pretty unequivocal. Plus some of the details he lays out kinda contradict other business we have done. No one believes Edwards has done a search for players and conveniently come back with 2 Mogi clients. So why is the CB position any different? It’s a bit bizarre. But this is the second time this summer that SD has gunned for Leventhal without mentioning him by name specifically. So I suspect he will become increasingly marginalised.
You'd like to think it's one of him or Hause - Clarke would be a brilliant signing to be honest, but don't see how we'd get him over West Brom. As for Bielik it's a good point - a lot of things points to us. Although Birmingham "ITK's" are convinced it's them.
Good to see communication channel re-established between WO and Scott D. Good to see we are getting some decent quotes too though clearly we can't be told anything that could jeopardise negotiations/transfers that are ongoing.
It seems unlikely to be Hause though if we're supposedly currently in the process of working on a deal, given that he's still out injured.
The Forest fans I know/follow would disagree. They also had Max Lowe who admittedly played only half as many minutes as PZ. I think if you were to order/measure the impact of each it would be: Spence > Garner > Davis > Zinckernagel > Lowe. I think aside from this Dux is absolutely correct re Forest and relying on loanees has actually been a strength as they have had a lot of wiggle room in the market to bring in PL standard upgrades rather than be stuck with a bunch of players who lie between the PL and the Championship in terms of quality (like Muff).
I know some Forest fans and they said Zinckernagel was more like Zico. You can’t trust Forest fans is the lesson here.
5hit! One of the very few signings made by other Champ clubs I'll be envious of. He seems to tick most of the boxes for what we're currently missing in midfield. This will be a coup for Norwich. Here's hoping that the journos have just gotten their Champ teams who play in yellow mixed up.
No thank you. If anyone is aware of the reliability of this account, please let us know. Nearly 20k followers though.
Pretty mixed I believe. Certainly purports to be ITK but more miss than hit I believe (I followed him in Jan as I was interested in Newcastle’s post-takeover business).
Agree with your comments, Burnsy, about Adam Leventhal, although I think that he was the first person to publish an interview with Edwards and he is quite often the first to break transfer news such as Manaj and Gaspar (presumably through using his contacts with agents and other Athletic journalists). The club coverage in the Watford Observer has greatly improved since Andrew French took over and he has published some great interviews and articles. However, I think that I remember him initially tweeting that he had been told that the links with Manaj were absolute nonsense. Some recent comments by Scott Duxbury (which implicitly criticized reports by Leventhal without mentioning him by name) do make me wonder whether the club is using Andrew French in an attempt to try to control the narrative. I do remember reading in May (possibly from Leventhal in the Athletic) that Kiko Femenia had asked to return to Spain because his family had moved back and his children were in school there. That report does seem to partially contradict what Duxbury said recently to Andrew French (link below). https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20589290.watford-ready-planned-ahead-defender-deals/
Liam Delap now being linked with a surprising loan move to Stoke - another one who I thought seemed more likely to join a PL club. With Davis, Archer and Armstrong currently looking unlikely, it appears to leave slim pickings when it comes to HG strikers we might be able to replace Sarr or Dennis with.
Looks like our recruiters need to get a move on. It's hard given that there's a month to go of the window. If we lose someone late will RE have the chance to sign a replacement or this LCB ?
Feels like it's all riding on getting Hause or Clarke, I can't think of any others who fit the bill. Unless there is a PL U23 player that the club have lined up.
Just came on here to post the same thing! Someone on here told me we were monitoring him (for a perm) at the start of the summer but he was just so good for the u19s that that soon become totally unrealistic. Would be a good fit for our midfield.
McAtee going on loan to Sheff Utd. Highly thought of at Man City but I’m not sure of his position. Isn’t he a second-striker, bit like JP?
Bournemouth, the EPL club even its own manager is saying “We’re way short of where we need to be”, and he's not sure the club are giving themselves the best chance of being competitive. Could be a spiral downwards if they don't invest, invest quickly and invest well. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...hobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1659464551-1
Yes. Looked very good last season, albeit at a much lower lever. Scratch that, got him confused with his brother, who is apparently a scummer.
