An the daily Dennis transfer update.

I mean still go a month of this to go - probably end up leaving in the last few days of the window.

We'll definitely be selling. But it will be late when we get desperate and replacements mostly gone - Sarr very likely too. Any replacements will be loans/frees.

As much as I felt he ended the season like a bit of a prat with his not passing to anyone style of play I now realise when looking up and seeing either King or Kucka in front of him it's no wonder he didn't.

Either way good luck to him. He proved he is a Prem player last year and we get a tidy profit for it. Everyone wins, probably Mogi too but hey ho what can you do.

(Please can no one trawl through past posts on this to contradict me)

Interesting hypothetical question. You can buy or sell Dennis season league goals at 14. If he appears in less than 10 league games bet is void.

    Buy or Sell?

West Ham going all in for Cornet now over Sarr and Dennis. Really feels like it's going to be Forest.

Can’t see it being Forest. Don’t think they have the money left over for another huge fee. Could be wrong but they’ve already signed 12 players.

Could see him going to Udinese with Deulofeu off to Napoli but based on reports this morning that deal is off and Deulofeu is staying as of right now. If Napoli don’t want to pay €18-20 for Deulofeu then no chance are they paying us €23-29mil for Dennis.

The foreign clubs that can afford him will have bigger players on their lists. If Villarreal sell Danjuma I can see him joining them. Outside of them, what teams in Europe can afford our price tag of €23-29mil (£20-25mil), because I genuinely think teams who are in the top 6 of each league will want bigger and better players.

If I had to hazard a guess he will end up at one of Newcastle, Villa, Leeds, Brighton or Palace.

Newcastle will realize Diaby etc don’t want to join them, so they will settle for Sarr or Dennis.

Villa I can see trying to make him apart of the loan for Archer

Leeds have money from Raphina and Dennis can play across the front three easily.

Brighton will get £50mil for sideshow Bob and will have money to spend. Dennis would be a sensible addition.

Palace will come in for him on deadline day for £15mil if we haven’t sold him by then to unsettle him and Dennis will hand in a transfer request when we reject it, ultimately selling him for £18mil to Palace.

Newcastle seem to be mostly after a right winger - in which case Sarr woud make more sense.

Aston Villa - maybe, but only if they have money still available and see Dennis as more of a striker than attacking midfielder/winger, because they're well stocked with attacking midfielders/wingers.

Leeds - seems unlikely - they've already signed Sinisterra and seem to be focusing on bringing in Kalimuendo as another forward. Maybe only if they sell Harrison to Newcastle

Brighton - possible, though no links as yet

Palace - nope, unless they finally ditch Zaha; they alredy have loads of wingers and forwards.

I wouldn’t be so certain we sell Dennis. Unlike Sarr he is a long contract left, fits well into the system and is training well and with a good attitude per RE. We’ve made a handy amount of money already in other sales this far which should ease the pressure somewhat. We kept Sarr because no one reached the valuation last time out - and that was in the middle of the pandemic. We even are said to have rejected a number of bids in the process. I can’t see us waiting until the last few days to sell below our valuation with no replacement.

What we should be telling clubs/agreeing with Dennis’ agent now is that the price is set at £20m until say August 10 and then either rises £3m a week thereafter until the end of the window or rises to £30m from that point.

Sarr has always felt to me like the likelier sale. Doesn’t really fit the system and only two years left. I think for accounting reasons the club may prefer to book the huge profit for Dennis than any amount received for Sarr but his departure would make more sense.

Can't see them getting relegated if they add Dennis to there attack. They will certainly be getting at least 12 goals from him and they still have other players that can get at least 10 goals in a season.

Except the likelihood of sale isn't anything to do with us, but interest from other clubs? Sarr might be a relatively square peg in a round Edwardsball hole (not necessarily mind you), but if other clubs don't want him, they don't want him

I think the likelihood of sale is linked to the flexibility of the sale price. I imagine that given contract situation and tactical fit, Sara’s valuation is more flexible than Dennis’. Price will have an impact on interest.

Don’t discount that one of them may be reasonably happy to remain here should a move not arise and the other a bit more (but not massively) keen to force a move.

  25. Jumbolina

Yes, but the guy has already shown he can be a key player in a promotion team, so if price gets below £18m I reckon you just keep him, and chance your arm on promotion and failing that sell for £8m next summer? Seems a £10m gamble which is worth taking in the 5 year scheme of things?

At this level with a little bit more coaching and less selfishness Dennis should bag 20 goals at least. That would be a sizeable portion of the goals needed to attain promotion assuming the defence remains reasonably tight and given who we do have at the back in Sierralta, Kabs and Kamara that should be a reasonable assumption.

I get he maybe in the shop window for the next weeks, but certainly didn't look like someone who's got a bad attitude, in fact I thought the opposite tonight - At times tried to overplay, but certainly put a good stint in. Noted that on a number of occasions he was vocal encouraging others and being a team player.

If we can afford to keep one out of Sarr and Dennis it has to be Dennis. He's got the workrate, actually uses his pace and teams are going to be terrified of him.

Was definitely most dangerous in the 1st half.

    And maybe most importantly motivated.

If Sarr goes Dennis will be a marked man. The more dangerous men going forward in this league we have the more the defence 'will come apart' leaving gaps for someone like a Pedro to score. Only a like for like replacement for these players would fix it.

I think if anyone has a bad attitude it's Sarr who quickly downed tools after Christmas.

Last season Dennis never gave up trying, and yes he was selfish at times, but half the team around him were useless or couldn't give a dam. If we can keep Dennis and Pedro and get rid of Sarr for decent money, we will be challenging for promotion.
