We’ve supposedly revisited our interest in Palmeiras midfielder Danilo and have bid €15m but Palmeiras are holding out for me and Milan are now in for him so I suspect this one, if true, is unlikely to progress further. https://www.goal.com/it/notizie/milan-lavora-centrocampo-futuro-danilo-Palmeiras/bltb5e99e6da05df6ae
Not sure what's more absurd - the idea that we bid €15m, which is almost double what we supposedly offered last summer; or that they supposedly rejected it. We're probably being used to drum up interest or inflate the price.
Goal Brazil are fairly reliable and Danilo had an outstanding season. So don’t think it’s so crazy that they wouldn’t accept that amount. He’s also the profile of player we’re supposedly looking for (box to box midfielder). I’ve heard that we were interested this summer but no idea if that interest is over given that they’ve rejected what would be a ridiculous bid for a Championship club.
If all it will take for this to go through is for you to agree to go to Palmeiras then bloody do it, man!
Haha - for more! Whoops Dont think my wife would want to relocate our family to Sao Paolo though, sorry.
Essentially breaks up play very effectively and gives it to someone else? Before returning to position to rinse and repeat.
That’s a cracking shout. If somehow there is £10m or so to spend on a midfielder O’Brien and maybe Ampadu should be the top targets.
I thought he'd be off to the Premier but it seems to of gone a little quiet about him. When Hoggy raves about a player I'd imagine he's usually correct.
£10mil on O'Brien would be an absolute madness - no way is he worth us spending that much on. He also occupies exactly the same areas of the pitch as Louza so would make zero sense as a midfield partner for him. Ampadu is an interesting shout, but he also might be a bit too deep-lying and defensive to complement Louza. I'd also be surprised if he's willing to drop to a second-tier league.
