El Capitan is wanted by Flam apparently: https://the72.co.uk/273072/fulham-keen-on-watford-midfielder-sissoko/ I know there's pretty strong rumours he'll be gone either way, especially if he has a break clause, but it's reassuring if there's clubs that actually want this dud and will take his wages off our books.
Good to hear they're planning sensibly for their return to the Prem this time round, and not gearing up to piss away large sums and drop straight back once again.
Apparently we have paid him £5m over the season, plus NI, Pension etc, so if we get £6m for him to cover all our costs, i'd snap their hands off
It'll be an undisclosed fee. In reality zero, with Fulham (or whoever buys him) agreeing to pick up the costs associated with terminating his Watford contract. There's probably 3 months notice or something built in for the break clause being trigger or the like.
I thought I was the only one in the room earlier in the season when everyone was raving over him and I thought he was utter *****. Glad to be right in the end, as usual. A disastrous signing that was called by just about every fan who’d ever seen him play.
Good riddance - this is turning into a good day. Can’t believe people aren’t happy at us being free from the likes of Sissoko and Foster! Let’s ditch as many of these cowards as we can. King next please.
Expected more from him - certainly as a goal scoring threat. Maybe was hoping for too much. Can be strong and powerful but not really made any difference to us.
Shows how much this team lacked leadership when this headless chicken was given the armband over and over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, you were expecting too much. He had scored 14 goals in 259 appearances in English football before joining us. Personally, once you get over his hopeless shooting, I've enjoyed watching him in our team. He certainly hasn't shirked responsibility on the pitch as some have and he is one of the last players I would put the team's poor form down to. I think he would have impressed more in a better Watford team, but I really don't think he is captain material.
He is probably one of the top 10 players in the world that I've seen when it comes to running around the pitch. Great stamina, decent pace and he is quite energetic. Sadly, he offers nothing else. He wasn't one of our worst players this season, but I won't be sad at all if he leaves.
I thought he was an excellent signing and looked very decent early on, then it became apparent he doesn't have a brain. Also the decision to make him captain was a bizarre one from Ranieri.
Yep, totally agree. A good player but a terrible leader. His form went to sh*t as soon as he was given the armband! One of the biggest issues this season for us was lack of leadership!
Spurs fans knew it though, so it's not like he's come here and dropped levels. My brother in law said he's busy enough between both boxes but has essentially zero impact in them. And that's pretty much proven to be spot on.
Oh yeah, I don't doubt that. Just didn't appreciate quite how ***** he would be going forwards. Makes Doucoure look like a technician around the box.
He’s good at breaking up play and coming out with the ball, that is it. He needs better midfielders (technically that is) around him that can take the ball off of him. If he’s your best midfielder then it won’t work very well.
What does this have to do with Moussa Sissoko? Also, it seems he's been linked in the recent past with Man City and Real Madrid...
A mod should surely know to post in the right thread: https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/transfer-talk-suggestions.54511/page-222 On Moreno, if this seems anything like representative of a typical performance from him (match was last month) then it's a hard pass from me - his passing seems horrendous; negative and conservative, and even then terrible with it.
I was warned by a Tottenham fan that he was less than the sum of his parts. As wfc sinatra says above, he's an athlete but not especially good technically.
Agree with everything except the tries hard bit. And one of the worst leaders in the pitch that I’ve seen
On comms as the final whistle went, Mooney begged the club to keep hold of him and 'build around him' next year. Absolute crackpot.
