Seriously has to be up there as one of our worst ever appointments. Just a complete and utter shambles.

I’m not a Roy fan but unfortunately if you change your manager 3 times a season, certain players will look at the manager and think why should I listen to you, your be out next week. It shouldn’t be that way but it is. If you look at his track record he is one of the most successful managers ever to rock up at the Vic. Any new manager will have the same issue, and if he fails it won’t necessarily be down to their management skills, it will more likely be done to the farcical policy of the owners.

I don't know, I presume you're old enough to remember the Steve McClaren reign? And while most it seems rate him as the worst ever England manager, for me Kevin Keegan was even worse - lowest win percentage of any England manager, laboured to qualification from a far easier group than the one McClaren had, before resigning after losing four out of his last five competitive fixtures, against very winnable opponents (given we were 2-0 up against Portugal). And the football was awful to watch, his opening game against Poland apart. His tenure was why I lost interest in the England team and switched to club football, picking Watford as my team.

Not a chance he goes before the end of the season. Duxbury and this cowardly squad are far more culpable than Hodgson but whilst he’s taking the flak, they hide in the background.

I feel very uncomfortable at the personal abuse directed at Hodgson today, although I understand the level of anger at the terrible job he has done, both in managing the team and his awful public relations skills. I would hope at least his professional pride would leave him hugely disappointed at his home record of six defeats against not the strongest opposition in the league. It would be best for all if he left straight away.

It’s not the results. It’s how he conducts himself. Worst Watford manager of all time for me.

As much as I’m enjoying and supportive of the Woy hate tonight, don’t let it distract you from the wider context of why we are in this mess

Certain club figures are probably delighted with Woy’s ridiculous pantomime villain act right now. I’m sure the podcast politburo are being fed their attack lines as we speak

What difference does it really make at this point ? We’re relegated. He’s going in 3 matches . What happens in those matches is fairly irrelevant . What is important is what happens between the middle of may and the beginning of August ,

Looking back, our best performances and wins were when we played on the front foot and played high energy football, pressing high up the pitch. Hodgson's approach exposed how bad we were defensively and took any attacking threat away completely. Awful.

You obviously weren’t around when Dave Bassett was manager & you wouldn’t care how he conducts himself if he kept us up. Once people start realising the problem with Watford is not the manager, then progress will be made. Each time a manger is sacked the downward spiral continues.

Whilst I agree Duxbury and Pozzo deserve a lot of flack, this isn't really the point. I think the main point for people is how Woy has conducted himself since being our Manager. He's been a total disgrace.

Bassett season I had a season ticket. Absolutely no idea what your point is about Hodgson keeping us up? Results and performances have been abysmal. His dreadful conduct adds to it and makes him worse than Bassett in my opinion.

This 100%. We all know Roy has nothing to loose so can say/do what he wants with limited repercussions but the ire of the fans really must be directed at those that put him in, and have left the club in the mess it currently is in.

Lol. Dave Bassett took the best Watford team of all time and turned into a car crash. Hodgson took over an a poor side that had already got 2 managers the sack, and did poorly.

1987 team minus Barnes was best of all time? Okay.

Bassett did horrendously. Changed so much poorly. But at least he acted like he cared.

Hodgson simply doesn’t give a damn and actively antagonises the fans. Acts unprofessionally. I think he’s a disgrace. Bassett was simply an almighty failure.

Depends on how you rank incompetence verses unprofessionalism. And guess what? It’s an opinion.

I agree entirely about how dreadful Bassett was.
However as poor and as swift as his decimation of ten years of GT and SEJ's work was, I don't remember him being as surly and mealy mouthed as Hodgson has been, especially in the last month.
Bassett remains number 1 for me.However Roy, for making something dreadful even worse, wins an enormous pile of steaming dung, delivered to his riverside apartment every day for eternity.

Watford football club. Hang your heads in shame.
Hodgson can soak up the applause from the Palace fans but not even acknowledge the TRAVELLING Watford fans, saying they were abit too far away. Unacceptable behaviour. Just go now.
It's just going from bad to worse and it's really the first time I've been totally ashamed of my towns club. The disrespect shown to supporters is just unforgivable.

Indeed. I cannot see any manager with a degree of professional pride exemplified of course by Graham accepting low standards, and that they played well when they clearly did not. I can probably see Ray who has a degree of affection for the club squirming when the idiot came up with his post match comments.

More money out of the coffers on another useless appointment. Money which we as a club cannot afford to squander. Gino however has no qualms when it comes to wasting money. It's the only thing he is an expert at along with Fuxbury. He only got the gig because of his dad.

You want a youngish manager with ideas, energy, contacts, a desire to improve and prove themselves who has shown promise as with once upon a time GT. Instead we were lumped with this relic. It's not a busman's holiday or game it's a serious business for the supporters. Something the idiot manager and most of the squad fail to appreciate.

The whole rotten carcass needs gutting before the infection spreads and destroys everything. The two idiots who cannot seem to select a competent manager with the right credentials partly because they are interfering know it alls also need to go. They brought him in, they created the player culture in which they hold the cards and they can bugger off with Roy.

Get rid of him, us fans deserved acknowledgement today and he did not give a toss, like the squad. Get in the new manager, hopefully Eustace and bleed him in. I'm still fuming.

As a side note, does anyone know how much it costs to "pay off" a manager ? We have done it twice this season, once last season and three times the season before that!! It's got to be a couple of million a pop surely?

Doesn't seem to bother master businessman Gino. Cutting overheads does not seem to count when it comes to bringing in managers and let's not forget their backroom staff in and out on a continual basis. Millions that could be better spent elsewhere that disappear into the ether when a considered careful choice in the first instance could have saved that money. It's a ludicrous state of affairs. How many times are these clowns going to repeat it. Rinse, wash and repeat on and on. Everyone knows that quote about doing the same thing and expecting a different result but Gino is genuinely bonkers while his lapdog Fuxbury carries out the orders.

Don't care less about performance, his conduct is completely classless. Sounds crazy but it literally feels like he is taking the p*ss out of us. Saying this performance was good? Saying we were relegated last week in a defeat all of his own making as he didn't make any subs or even leave the bench? Or even face the press after!? If we relegated last week come out and face the press don't hide behind an "illness"

Then he says we're too far away to applaud, laughing all of that. He's a **** and that's before we get into his tactical ineptness.

Exactly. It’s what happens in the very short closed season that counts now. Hopefully the club makes a swift appointment, and uses the parachute money to swiftly restructure the squad. How we manage the season with the enforced World Cup break is also critical. But I am still looking forward to the next campaign. This season for me went sour after the Brentford away defeat. On the long trudge back to the station, I realised there was no hope whatsoever for this campaign.

Of all the incompetent managers that Gino has employed over the years, Woy really is the most dislikeable

I have no faith in the owner to appoint the right manager
I have no faith in our recruitment system to build a squad to get us back up
I have no faith in the CEO to run a club
I have no faith in the players to want to stay here and fight for automatic promotion

I agree he’s been a disgrace since he’s been here, but the squad have been a disgrace since August. I don’t recall a more dislikable Watford squad.
