Doesn’t really make sense logically though does it . We have had 2 relegation seasons in a row and missed a promotion season . I’m not going to give up my season ticket when I’m likely to actually see Watford win regularly again next season . I’ve been through the pain for the most part.

Come back to me in 8 months. It won't pay off.

I walked out at HT against Palace, haven’t been to another game since, and have now cancelled my ST. Cheers Gino. You’ve ruined something I’ve loved for 20+ years. I hope you’re happy.

I renewed because I don't mind the championship and it's £35 each for the kids, however it sits weirdly and I'm unconvinced I'll feel happier next season.

Brentford next week is the first game in 31 years where I've decided I'm not going even though I have nothing on. I've battled down to The Vic through hangovers and drug comedowns, missed family birthdays, kids football and all manner of events to get to games.

Just feels utterly unrewarding. Kids can't be arsed so why waste the train fare.

This is my quandary at the moment. I don't want to renew and I think I'll give the rest of the season a miss, but now there's a waiting list and people like TVOR have spoken about giving up a ST and not being able to get back in.

I don't mind the Champ, in fact I love it, I just don't want to watch whatever motley crew of ageing never have beens, reluctant teenage prodigies and journeyman mercenaries are assembled to represent us.

Waiting list sounds like scare tactics to me. I wonder if most of that list will be desperate to take up the offer once they realise they won't see arsenal, spurs and chelsea for their 500 quid.

They’ve got you by the balls mate. This is why things will never change and why so many fans just saunter off at the end completely unbothered.

I didn’t know much about this waiting list. Out of sheer morbid interest I’ve added myself to it to see if I get the call.

Guess it was set up when we were promoted in 2015 but yes good point .

Cannot see many taking up the offer for Wigan and Blackpool at home !

As mentioned elsewhere on this thread, made the decision to not go back this season and honestly feel so much better no being there - it was the formation of the COG Committee that brought me back to the forum as I just find that all to sinister!

In terms of not getting back in we're not renewing our STs next year (4 in total in our group). Multitude of reasons, relegation to the Champ means more midweek games that are nigh on impossible to get to due to work, cost of living (energy has gone up more than the cost of two of our tickets combined), but also just a genuine apathy to the whole football expirience.

That said I did check with the club about ad-hoc tickets for home games and was told that we'd all still be in home group A (so basically guaranteed tickets) and would need to go to about 5/6 games in a season to stay there

I think it’s healthy that there are fans that won’t be renewing .

Like the squad , the fan base needs pruning back of all the deadwood .

You can go straight to the top mate. I've got an adult and 2 u16s available and they're yours as long as you promise to keep them out of TVOR's hands.

I lolled as the 2nd went in and got up and left. People around me were still engaged and angry. I stood at the exit tunnel and booed as loudly as I could to fulfill a promise to my absent brother. Then I went home, chuckling at the layer upon layer of **** that this club has served up this year.

So basically the family stand is angrier than The Rookery now. A pilot twist I was not expecting at all.

Yeah, I found it amazing that people were still trying to roar the team on at 1-0 down, as we piled forward time after time, to lose possession on the edge of their box. My 9 year old has suddenly become really passionate about football and kept telling me off for not watching, as I was whatsapping my brother about the unfolding hilarity he was missing and laughing with the toxic shoutboxers.

I have to say, anyone still emotionally invested in this collection of saps is a glutton for punishment.

It was a good toxic soup that shoutbox on Saturday to be fair. Like that episode when the chemical waste truck crashed in TJ Hooker in the summer of 1983.

Assuming here moog, you were so incensed you got up and just left your 9 year behind to their unfortunate fate watching the rest of the game? You introduced them to the toxic shoutbox yet then?

Give it 3/4 years and when we're Championship also rans, or in League One, you'll be able to walk up to the gate like in the good old days and buy a ticket.

I am beyond getting once used with this team. And my kids are COGs. They'd never like the SB.

That's how I got in in the first place! 23rd in the Championship, a simpler time. We were crap, but at least everyone cared.
