Is someone getting a bit above their station? Maybe Troost Ekong needs to look at his performances to see why the manager isn't playing him! https://twitter.com/Daniel_Moroney_/status/1508924940577345542
He could get some abuse for saying that. At least he is good at ducking things so it won't effect him.
Erm, which rock has this bloke suddenly popped out from under, exactly? He's clearly just pulling shyt out of his ass. Nothing he has said actually even claims to have been sourced.
Maybe getting confused with Bachmann? WTE won’t be happy about not playing naturally but doesn’t seem like the sort to rock the boat.
You're being very kind in your judgement but I don't think he is getting confused, he is just genuinely making a load of things up for fun. Look at that insane scattergun wall of rubbish on his feed.
In talks for a loan move to the MLS apparently: https://twitter.com/RGonzalezCBS/status/1511404451235614728?s=20&t=BoN77ZfCL6ruqzUNrqdo8Q Loan fees are back! Surely we can make a bit of dollar from this and big Ash Fletcher.
And they say satire is dead... Would become the second Former Watford Hero™️ in the current LA Galaxy ranks
Most of our CB' have an occasional ricket in them . Unfortunately Troost seems to have them every match and his distribution is poor as well.
If Samir stays and they seen Pollock as being part of the first team squad next season can see this happening. Mind you we don't want to just be left with Kabesele and Cathcart! Sierralta to be moved on too?
I don't see anything to suggest Pollock, who is in and out of the Cheltenham side, being ready to start games in the champ.
Only recently in an out tbf - he's started in 30 out of the 36 league games since he joined, from the footage I've seen (not watched it all tbf) I'm not sure why he's fallen a little bit out of favour - might just be the manager trying out things as they've been conceding a fair bit (and they still conceded 4 at the weekend when Pollock didn't play!)
Yes, sure, just thinking that if he was good to be at the centre of our defence next season, you'd expect him to be "a bit of star" for Cheltenham, and be seen as undroppable.
Yeah that's fair, I don't think he's ready for starting games in the Champ for a (hopefully) title chasing team yet anyway. Think another loan at the top end of L1 or the bottom end of the Champ is needed first, easy to forget he's only 20!
Club have denied it - so he'll probably be off by the end of the week. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...im-no-contact-la-galaxy-william-troost-ekong/
Bondy’s been up to the task for the G’s, and his back line has been woeful long before he showed up. They are actually playing pretty well finally so I doubt a move to the Galaxy will come to pass. I think the team is so used to hunting for replacements for decent players they shipped away, they can’t stop looking. Facepalm
I’d keep him next season. A leader, a committed player and far less of a liability in a division where strikers only score 1 in 5 guilt-edged chances. Bin him off if we go back up though.
Tend to agree, at the very least have him as a backup, he might not be perfect for Edwardsball, but let's be real, we won't be signing 3 players perfectly suited to his style of play. WTE is acceptable at Championship level, and has a few years left in him, so give him next season and then probably get rid then
I don't like him as a player and and in an ideal world he wouldn't be here, but, indeed, we will not be living in an ideal world next season, and it's certainly true that if you are a coach with any kind of brain at all you could remove his one main danger at Championship level in one fell swoop, simply by instructing him not to play any long passes out of defence.
I think the key is we only get rid of the likes of WTS when we know we have better replacements ready to sign on the dotted line.
That's not his biggest failure though. He can simply not defend properly. I stated that last time we were in the Championship. How can you defend if you take your eye off the ball? He is a complete nightmare for turning his back on shots. Man up and take the ball in the face or anywhere, don't make it so simple for the opposition.
Shouldn't be difficult. The beautifully named Darling at the Dongs is going to be some defender. At 22 he's already better than anyone we have centrally. He can pick a pass, comfortable moving forward with it too.
Yes, I remember we talked about this at the time - the thing is, he's not a great/good defender, but he still was one of the two key facets of a defence that set/matched the all time defensive record for the Championship. To a certain extent, that's unimpeachable. I agree that his other failings still make him something of a liability, and without a Sarr to frighten the opposition team 5 yards further back by default more so, but as a lesser character or backup at this level, I am incredibly doubtful he's risky enough to be a priority to replace or ship out - especially when we'll need to do that with several other defenders more.
