So here we are again at the great Watford pond of hope. A one goal win with a clean sheet and its back to drinking at the Watford fountain of belief again. Roy has got a tune out of Craig Cathcart again and the left flank is finally sorted with Hassain Kamara already a fan favourite. A genuine left footer who genuinely cares. Amazing signing. We now know every game won't be pretty. Roy's way is results first so the first goal either way is huge. Form wise it's an absolute shocker for both teams: Palace injury news: Conor Gallagher should be back for the visitors. Zaha plays meaning the bizarre love triangle of him, Roy and Harry the Hornet is back again. Eze should play too. I really rate him highly. They might have their back up goalie playing which is Jack Butland. Crikey I forgot about him to be honest. Will Hughes may well play and hopefully play badly. Our team news: Samir might miss out for us due to concussion. Pedro and Dennis have knocks bit should be OK. The same can be said for Kucka but I doubt he gets beck in after Saturdays result. Louza simply has to start. Played for both: Cliff Holton Bruce Dyer Do do do we've got Mariappa Jobi MaCanuf Geudiuora Recent head to head: Started well results wise in the Prem against them. Been rubbish lately though. Standard Watford form really. Prediction: Watford 2 Palace 1 In the pond!!!
Thought Viera would be a crap manager, but then whenever I watched Palace they looked pretty impressive so assumed I was wrong. They’ve been fairly crap recently though, so hopefully it was just an initial new manager bounce and he actually doesn’t really know what he’s doing.
That recent head that head is confusing as it’s actually based on the outcome of Palace’s results not ours, so we’ve done better more recently, not worse.
Both Samir and Dennis are definitely fine. Dennis is a big relief after having to come off with a knock vs Villa. JP is supposedly still a bit more touch-and-go regarding his availability.
Got a thread shut down last night with that nonsense. And made poor filbert out to be something that anyone with a brain could see he isn’t.
I think the support is representative of the town's demographics. Yes, most people at The Vic are white, but then the 2021 consensus for the Borough shows that 87.6% of the population are white. Which black or mixed-race players have been scapegoated? We spent a lot of money on Andre Gray, and he was useless despite being on a huge salary. Gray held parties during a national lockdown and did interviews with our rival's shirt framed in the background. Are people racist for scapegoating Troost-Ekong when he has cost us many points this season with ridiculous errors? Clown.
Does anyone know as to why this is being played tomorrow and not our normal midweek night ie this evening?
Can we focus on the game tomorrow night please. The matter is currently being looked at by the Mod team.
If we win tomorrow night, we are only 3 points behind Brentford with a game in hand, and we still have to play them.
Whatever he's done seems to have been removed from this thread and it also might be why @Burnsy has a post that just says eh? but doesn't seem to be replying to anybody!
I’d just like to say it didn’t even involve me! I just read the post that was made and was utterly confused by it because it was very odd and very random - but was clearly offensive. Hence my confused post!
Filbert called out/took the piss out of a vaguely racist/clumsy comment yesterday in another thread, Moosegasm totally lost the plot and accused Filbert of racism over and over again and went on a series of bizarre rants despite everyone pointing out it was literally the opposite, to the point the thread was deleted. For reasons best known to him he’s carried it on in this thread, twice. Extremely odd behaviour to say the least.
Roy has had a few very feint digs at being let go by palace For that reason I suspect he will see this as a bit personal and a chance to prove a point Add in how well he and Ray know that squad strengths and weaknesses, and I think we might 1-0 this one
Yep. I’ve never seen anyone make such an idiot of themselves on a thread and that’s saying something around here.
The world of social media and the internet can be very harsh at times, if you take it too seriously you are fvcked. I hope Moosegasm is ok and anybody else that finds it a bit to much sometimes. Get the f off fb and twitter and avoid the front page of reddit too. There be shenanigans going on online turning us against each other. World events are orchestrated and the majority of us are hypnotised robots being told what to thinnk, say and do on the daily. It isnt a surprise to me when people blow. Dont listen to me though, I have no idea what I am talking about and I just post for entertainment purposes. Palace are in a slump and we need to follow up that great result. 2-0 to the 'orns, Harry to renew his conflict with Zaha and Roy to walk in the wrong dugout.
As for the game, well it's along the realms of a "must win to stand any chance" game. We have had a few of them this season haven't we? Brentford (A) - Watfordy Burnley (A) - Actually did alright Norwich (H) - Watfordy Brighton (H) Watfordy Last result at Villa was overall encouraging and it put a smile back on a few faces, we had less of the ball but took one of the few chances we did get. I can see much the same setup from Roy tomorrow night. It could be a case of score early and sit back or sit back and score late. Despite our defense looking better than it has been. I still do not trust us to score after 10mins then sit back for 80+ trying to hold it, which is what we tried and failed to do at Brentford. Sarr got 90mins, and I expect Louza to keep his place in the side - he was excellent at the weekend. Samir and Dennis should be alright to play and perhaps King can bag a goal. I am not too worried about the Palarse threat, even Zaha seems to of lost a bit of his mojo this season. How Hughes plays will be interesting, and the reception he gets from the locals. I think we will win this, because our home form is dreadful. and I can see a lot more fans' than the amount who showed up against our no show last time out at home. Watford 1 Palarse 0
