Me and my pal caught it at same time with same timeline of illness, going to the game was the only time either had left the house for that period.

It is of course possible that one of us caught it from our kids via school and gave it to each other.

As I've said earlier it's more the possibility of the Covid Virous getting into our home, rather than direct contact with the workman that we are concerned about. We only need to miss sanitising one thing that he touches and that could be it, as we are both in a vulnerable group.

I reckon with Omicron that most people can change their vote now.

Yes, tested positive on the 2nd of Jan this year.

    First day - Headache
Second day - Fatigue, aches and fever
Third day - Fatigue, aches and fever
    Fourth day - Sore throat
Fifth day - Loss of taste, sore throat, cough, sneezing
Sixth day - Loss of taste, cough and sneezing
Seventh day - Cold - Taste had come back.
Eighth day - Still tested positive but a very mild cold.

All in all was just like the flu for me. Admittedly I hadn't had flu since I was 14 (was bed ridden for 10 days) and am now 37. Had plenty of chest infections, colds etc, but that was the worst i've felt for many years. Vaccine status is double jabbed, won't get the booster as I had heart palpitations after the second jab and have been exposed to Omicron anyway so have natural immunity.

It’s currently going round my younger daughter’s year group (5th year/year 11) for the second time. The first time was mid/end October so lots of them are only just out of the 90 day “natural immunity” period and are getting it for a second time. The difference this time seems to be that they are feeling less ill than they did the first time (maybe because this is Omicron versus Delta last time or maybe because their first vaccine has had a chance to “bed in” now, whereas they had only just been jabbed when they all caught it in October) and they are testing positive for a much shorter amount of time.

I have been a close contact of at least three people who have had Covid recently and have looked after both my kids when they had it but have still escaped it so far.

I had my booster on 20/12, on 30/12 my youngest child tested positive. On New Years Day, because I was going to football, I tested myself and I was positive (so I missed the Spurs match).

    1/1 - No symptoms, bored.
    2/1 - No symptoms, bored.
3/1 - No symptoms, took Xmas decs down. Although unnecessary, took lateral flow, still positive.
4/1 - No symptoms, working from home.
5/1 - No symptoms, working from home.
6/1 - No symptoms, working from home. Took lateral flow, now negative.
7/1 - No symptoms, working from home. Took day 7 lateral flow, negative can go to the supermarket.

I reckon that by having had my booster when I did played a part in me having no symptoms whatsoever.

Tested positive on Saturday. This is my second bout of it. It's exhausting.

I completed a random test in June 2020 in response to an NHS/Imperial College London (I think) data-gathering campaign. It came back negative, but the woman who collected the test sample was dressed up as if heading out into a nuclear fall-out zone.

None of those symptoms are anything like flu? Are you drunk?

Yes I have antibodies, that’s what happens once you’ve been infected ‍♂️

Flu is far more serious viral infection than something that gives you two days with a fever. That’s a cold. There are 20 plus different viruses that collectively are called the common cold. Some are Covid viruses.

Having antibodies is not natural immunity. If you were naturally immune you would not have got infected in the first place, because your T cell response would have prevented the virus multiplying, and stop infection Antibodies are your response to infection, your body having to react to an infection you were not immune to.

it’s likely that as your antibody response declines you will be at risk of re infection, as your T Cells have not gained the ability from vaccination to seek out and prevent the Covid 19 Omicron variant.

The other half had it over Christmas. She was absolutely fine apart from one afternoon where she was very drowsy and spent a few hours in bed. Good timing though as I could watch the football in peace!

having just suffered for four days of 40.5 temperature with the associated aches, sweats and severe headaches and then followed up by four days of headaches so severe I just couldn’t get out of bed all the while testing negative, I have to agree that the current bout of flu is waaaay worse than majority of peoples covid symptoms

Had omicron between Xmas and NY, would’ve assumed it was a very, very mild cold I hadn’t had a test, although in reality when I get colds they’re 10x worse as my nose won’t stop streaming for days. Felt probably 10% down for a week in terms of energy.

I tested positive after returning from holiday in September and taking one of those compulsory PCR tests.

Had I not taken the test I never would have known I had Covid as I felt fine except for very similar symptoms to yours 19tgg. I just assumed it was a slight cold which I often get when returning from holidays mainly because of the difference in the temperature between the UK and the hot climate I have just returned from.

I don’t think I have had it. I didn’t actually take my first LFT until last weekend - we were going to the theatre and I’d been feeling under the weather for a few days - it was negative.

That said, I have had multiple cold type symptoms on and off for several months, mild but persistent - so it’s quite possible I have had it and not realised.

We don’t have kids which probably helps…

I don't think I have had it, although I am now travelling into work a few days a week, so I'm sure my time is coming.

As I said in another group, I was at a table at a work event with a cold (PCR tested) and everyone else on the table apart from me got Omicron. I think the antibodies from the cold saved me, as at that point, it had been about 6 months since my second Astra.

Lucky, because it was a week and a half before my wedding!

I've still got the exact same symptoms. Worried now I might have Long Not-Covid.

Twice now, had it April 2020 - only symptom was losing my sense of smell/taste for 10 days or so. Had it again over xmas, GF tested positive on xmas eve but took me until NYE to test positive - had a tiny cough every few hours for one day and that was it, perfectly fine other than that!

Daughter had it last week, back out on day 7 after 2 negative lateral flows.

Me and the wife both had banging headaches and felt ill the day after she had symptoms, but tested negative on both PCR and lateral flow.

I can only assume that our symptoms were us fighting it off before it took hold, hence the negative results.

I've done everything I possibly can to try to catch Omicron but I just don't seem to be able to. What is wrong with me?
