We do have someone from midfield getting into the box, unfortunately it's Sissoko.

He has to drag ASM down at that point, take the yellow card and give the free-kick away.

Been at work all day, only just seen the highlights on YouTube, but looks like we grew into the game after their goal and deserved at least a draw. The timing of the goal almost makes it feel like a win, so as others have said, need to take that momentum into the next match (whenever that is now).

Shocking defending by Ngakia for their goal, however, supposedly had ASM in his pocket up until then. Either way, it's yet ANOTHER individual error that's cost us a clean sheet!!

Good to hear that the three newbies played well, let's not forget that's their first ever game in English football, they'll need to adjust to the pace of the game and the intensity until you can really claim whether they're good enough or not. Signs are promising though! Not a huge Cleverley fan BUT i'd have him in there all day over Kuca! No idea why he wasn't starting instead.

Great header from JP, really determined and brave the way he attacked the ball and we will need to show that level of bravery every game now to pull ourselves away from the drop! He has to be first name on the team sheet at the moment, he's a class above.

What a miss by Sissoko as well, has to be scoring that!

Oh well, all in all not a bad point, could've been a lot worse and gives us something to build on now.

Yeah, but Everton, Chelsea, Man Utd performances would disprove that surely?

With some time to reflect, I think we can take some satisfaction from the result today. Pedro is starting to show his potential (great goal), new players look like an improvement, especially the left back, Foster back. There are some positives. We created chances. Sissoko had an off day and Ngakia made a very expensive mistake. Hopefully he will learn from that. If we have to rely on Kucha for the season, we are in serious trouble. That late goal keeps hopes alive. It has been rough being a fan recently, so I am going to focus on the positives. What is rare is beautiful.

I meant they aren't up to doing it consistently. Maybe the data set after the Chelsea game showed worrying signs and we couldn't risk lots of injuries with AFCON on the horizon.
    Only speculation.

Your response is noted. I wasn’t that happy after the game. Pleased we got something out of it, but Newcastle are very poor and we didn’t do enough to expose that, and they will only get stronger with outrageous spending. But I have come to a different view as time has passed.

Doubt it. The poor lamb is probably home-sick. Reckon he'd get on well with Danny Rose.

Scoring important late goals is a good sign , an improvement for us for sure.
It shows that you are the side piling on the pressure at the end .
On the flip side conceding late goals regularly is a bad sign Spuds\Brentford.
Let's hope todays goal is an upturn ?

Agreed. But being a fan of Watford FC does not always produce rational thoughts. I am happier now than I was and certainly far happier than if Pedro’s header drifted wide.

He was in discomfort and grabbing his right hamstring in the last minute or two of the game.

No guarantee, of course, but 'he' did tweet this hopeful message two hours after the final whistle with no mention of any hamstrings:

By contrast, I would be stewing if I was a Newcastle fan.

We got a well deserved draw ,had either king and sissoko one on one's gone in would of been even better ,with how bad our defence has been this season newcastle had only one shot on goal

In fairness, they also had at least two shots come back off the woodwork - Joelinton stealing in from about 4 yards early in the first half the pick of them.

That was a massive point to stop the rot. We looked a much better side although it literally couldn't have been any worse before hand.

There are some deep flaws in the way we are set up and sad to see huge individual errors being made to give away goals but for the first time in 7 lets not obsess over that and enjoy getting another point on the board. I'm confident we can beat Burnley and Norwich.
