Quite. He looks fairly impressive but that is a lot and he’ll need to hit the ground running too if they’re to avoid relegation.
well I like the idea of someone who takes corners /free kicks that are actually good enough for someone to score from
I think it's worth adding that Zinckernagel was another supposed set-piece specialist who didn't seem it after joining.
I think he looks an excellent talent. 8 goals and 3 assists in just 867 minutes. Not sure he's what Newcastle need right now, but I think the fee seems justified and would still be a bit of a coup for Newcastle. If he doesn't join them now then he's someone who I'd expect a club like Dortmund or Atletico to take a punt on for the money in not too long.
I can't say I've seen him play so can't really pass judgement - his numbers are impressive so far but only 867 mins of Ligue 1 football is still a big punt for 30m! Also looking at his stats, Statsbomb says he's scored his goals from only 4.12 xG (1 penalty) - obviously it's a small sample size but this seems a big difference that would also make me pretty hesitant about the fee. But again, I know nothing about him - he could be Mbappe-esque where everyone knew he was gonna be a top talent before he'd even played a senior game, which means 30m could also be a bargain!
Will Hughes has gone from being a bit rubbish at set pieces with us, to suddenly being absolutely pinpoint for Palace, what on earth are we doing that's so wrong as a club? It's not as if we don't have big lads, but, for example, Sierralta has negative goals for us!
