If we can get better quality through the door we may also need to be prepared to leave players out of the squad if we can’t shift them on. It’s no more than Gino deserves for cutting too many corners in the first place.
I'm now at the point where I'll be pretty devastated if he doesn't go back this month. I'd rather play Conteh than Tufan tomorrow, they both might look lost on the pitch but at least Conteh will be able to move.
He'll go. He's taking up a valuable spot and he's less creative than a slab of concrete. I'd rather have Jurado.
I think the writing was on the wall when Ranieri bought on Ngakia to play midfield over him. Can’t remember who it was against now? Chelsea?
I would be sad to see Kiko & Kabs leave as I think they are still decent players, but sadly both are becoming more and more injury prone and we can't afford to keep players who are not playing enough games because of injury
Kiko has done well for us and clearly wants to be here. He's unfortunately not durable enough to play every match. but I'd also like to see him stay. Kabasele has been more injury prone and like WTE, seems to have all-too-frequent mental lapses. If Ranieri had had a whole off-season with him, perhaps some of that could have been sorted. As it is, I suspect his time with us has run out.
Really hope this is ******** https://turkish-football.com/watford-midfielder-ozan-tufans-agent-responds-to-transfer-reports/ Says the buy clause is triggered if we are relegated. Makes zero sense to me.
Feels like there's a missing 'not'. Either way he looks no where near the level and him staying for the near 5 months is bad enough news, let alone being lumbered with him permanently.
VOLE SPECIAL | Ozan Tufan's Representative: The mandatory purchase agreement of 7.5 million Euros between Watford and Fenerbahce continues. https://twitter.com/yagosabuncuoglu/status/1488871825249554436? Not so good news.
Turkish media is hardly known for its reliability. Also it’s only possibly mandatory if we stay up which seems unlikely and even then we might be able to find a way to wriggle out (especially if he wants to stay in Turkey or does well again at Fener etc).
You're likely right. As we’re getting relegated, we’ll never know but overall, I think we should be disappointed that the absolute upgrade on Hughes and Chalobah was a fat, useless waste of space.
According to Turkish media the obligation to buy if we stay up is still valid. That can’t be right surely?
I'd be surprised if this were true. Although if true it's almost worth getting relegated to avoid the fee and for paying wages for this lump for the next 5 years.
