I know a fair few seasons back they actually changed the type of ball that is used. Was it Peter Schmicheal who used to test the air depth of the ball every game then demand a new
one? Some players did raise concern they were quite heavy. Not sure if the PL still uses MITRE as the ball supplier.

How about buying a Golden Goal ticket, with extra points if you ever had a win.

Nike make the match balls now. You can buy actual match balls but like anything else they’re expensive, you’ve been able to do this for years as a team I used to play for had a couple for match days. Most people just use the replica ones but you could tell the difference, I’d say the actual match balls were slightly harder and lighter

Much more fun than the boring 50-50 draw.

I did the same with the 25 yard shoot out .

Against Man Utd when Rookery was for away fans . We were wearing red so got a big cheer from Utd fans .

Still feel dirty to this day .

An obvious one missed in the list; Have you seen Watford beat Man City.

    I did in March 1989.

Luther & Barnes were before my time unfortunately. It must have been a great time to be a Hornets fan as was the first cup final. Went to City wish I never.
Did anyone play in the fans game a few years back?

Good lad is Dave. Rounds up the trolleys at Tesco in Rickmansworth, always have a quick chat about the latest debacle/occasional victory/goalless draw (what's one of those ?)

We didnt really turn up at Wembley in 84 (a bit like 2013) for me it was the least enjoyable round that year. The earlier rounds were really special. We were one of the best teams in the country in the 2nd half of that season. 28,000 watched us at home to 2nd division Brighton in the 5th round. Amazing times really.

Possibly a bit unfair. every time I see that Les Taylor shot that goes just wide I think it's going in

True, we were the better team for the first half an hour. I doubt anyone would deny that had Rostron not been suspended it would have been a different match.

The two trips up to Brum for the quarter and semi-finals were terrific.

Don't know about Golden Goal but in 1982 I won £1000 on the WFC lottery. I bought a music centre, a leather jacket and a pram for our
    soon-to-be-born daughter.

Don't think we'd have won even with Rostron in the side but it would have been a much closer match.

Everton had a really good side that went on to win the league and the cup winners cup. If Wilf had played and we'd had Luther back from Milan maybe we'd have had a chance. But that Everton side was a lot better than us.

As was the comeback at the kennel and taking (i think it was) 4 or 5000 to the Valley. Great atmosphere that day and Everton were nearly knocked out by Gillingham.

My main memory of the Charlton trip was of the epic drive through south London to get there. It took forever and we only arrived shortly before kick-off and made our way round to what was left of the massive terrace where the away fans were opposite the main stand.
Fortunately, I had also managed to get there four years earlier for an evening game when the whole terrace was still open. We made our way right to the top just to say we'd done it. A bizarre experience with only a few thousand in the ground. Dire 0-0 draw, by the way.

The QF at St Andrews was my first away game, I was 8 years old so I don't remember much of the match, however as for Birmingham I'd never seen anything like it, I learn the word "dystopian" that day.

It's genuinely not an exaggeration to say that St Andrews and the feral atmosphere inside the stadium that day did have more than a hint of the post apocalyptic. I have a lot memories to cram into my little monkey brain but that day will be one of the last that leaves my mind in old age.
