Absolutely despise the selfie culture but on the day Mazzarri got sacked, Reids and I saw Abdi and Erkstrand in the smoking area of Oceana at 1 am. They were very nice when two pissed blokes asked for a picture. Erkstrand was absolutely trashed and Abdi was on the waters, it very much seemed that Abdi was making sure Erkstrand didn't do anything he shouldn't. They were talking/being followed around by two girls who had no idea who they were and as we left they asked why we wanted a picture.

'Saw Luther's debut' should be worth treble. As should 'there when they did the Barry Dyson 'bomb-blast' free kick.'
Hearing Chopper Welbourne tell an oppo player 'if you foul him (Scullion) again, you're going into the crowd' & then watch him keep his promise 5 minutes later.
Telling Roger Joslyn (at Wrexham) 'kick him Rog, that's what we bought you for', chuckle as he shouted back 'righto, lads' & then laugh uncontrollably as he chased back to launch Arfon Griffiths about 4 feet in the air.

In the current climate with the news about KN's demise, we ought to keep it a bit more real.

What about travelling with team in team bus and joining them in the old style big team bath.

Getting thrown out (home and away) should really be included.

Also getting into the Vic free through various methods.

Also having been in the Vic dressing rooms and also having attended greyhound racing should be high scorers.

Versus Forest in some cup match during early GT time is when I did it.

    18. Would have been 19 if "Saw Mo Johnston exiting the flat above the Hornet Shop with a Nolan sister the morning before a match" was included.

I’m joking only 17.5 wasn’t old enough to go to 84 cup final.

Don’t forget the paddock in front of the old Main Stand and the terrace in front of Shrodells before they put seats on it in 1980. I did the lot.

I gave Adam Cummings a lift back to Northwood from a pre-season cricket match at somewhere like Chipperfield.

Probably. I didn't do it. I just went to the game then watched it again on the Big Match the next day. I'm not a real fan.
I only did three of the things that I listed. I did live over the road from Mike Benning but I was too shy to talk to him.

I actually did clear the snow for that game and got, as my reward, a cup of tea, a bacon sarnie & free entry to the game. Oh, and of course a thumping 5-1 home win and then watching the highlights as the main match on The Big Match the next day as most other games in the area had been postponed.

I met Paul Devlin in a service station WH Smith on the way back from an away game at Reading when the coach had stopped at the same station.

Didn’t ask for none of this ‘selfie’ nonsense though. Just bought a copy of What Car? and moved on because I’m a right bloke.

God Taylor asked to borrow my Watford Observer while we were waiting for our Luggage at an airport before and England away game, (he was working for radio then not the manager)

Lose to Northwich in the FA Cup
Beat Huddersfield 2-0 with 9 men after Mayes and Geidmintis were sent off
3 games in 4 days over Easter
Which were all during the same season

    Beat Arsenal on consecutive days

Seen Nigel Callaghan play in goal

  29. 13 for me I think. Can't remember if I went to a testimonial in the 90s.

Did the half time shootout. The version where you had to run from the halfway line first and beat the keeper. Scored in the Vic road end!

Main thing. I always remember is the football being so much lighter and different to control than my Sunday league footballs.

Yep. All of those, except Northwich, happily.
As a footnote, I was surprised to find the 3 games at Easter thing finished as early as 1980. Up till then it was a real 'festival of football' and often decided promotion and relegation issues.

15.. I think. Though remembering who I bought programmes from tests the old grey matter a bit. I definitely bought monkey nuts off Wolfie.
PS the biggest omission for me is having seen us play overseas.

Things to add to the list...

Going to an away game on an away day special train.
Being at Wembley when a Watford player scored a hatrick for England.
Getting removed from the away end at the Vic.
Jumping up and celebrating in the home end at QPR when we scored.
Catching the match ball, (also at QPR in the right section this time).

The ball hit me on the knee once at Northampton - the only time I’ve ever touched the ball in somewhere around 1,600 games.
