The day we get anything against Citee again is the day Gino dresses up as a clown and juggles on the centre circle at the Vic at FT. :D

Except that that refers to ‘finish’ (ie the season) and that is nowhere near. So, presumably it is currently determined by alphabetical order, as it is before a ball is kicked.

I agree it should presumably be determined alphabetically. Just find it curious that some tables have us higher than Villa.

Probably like we were with Doucoure during the first half of 16/17 when we were looking pretty secure but our new signing hadn't had a chance to make much impact at all!

Turns out Kane can only do it against some part-timers.

    Yes.
Fortunately for us, the fact that OGS was still in place (unforeseen) caused a predictable 9 goal swing.

I was wondering if this was specifically a Watford thing, or whether other small clubs tend to put on an "after the Lord Mayor's show" after expending all their energy and adrenalin on a big win against one of the big boys, but after a bit of investigation up until early 2015/16 I'd seen enough to sadly conclude it's the former.

Palace have followed up scalps with good results on numerous occasions, including winning four in a row after beating Chelsea the season after they went up, a run that included a 3-2 win at 5th place Everton. Swansea did the double over Arsenal and Man Utd in the same season, we've never managed one double over any of the big boys. Bournemouth after winning at Chelsea beat Man Utd and then won at West Brom. Wigan during one of their great escapes beat title-chasing Man Utd and won at Arsenal.

Hopefully though we finally have the manager to make this "Watford way" a thing of the past!

It will go on head-to-head. We are technically above them.

Shall we just put all 11 men on the line all game against them, just in case?

I know it’s slightly irrelevant as we’re still quite early on in the season, but like in other leagues I think it should come down to head to head if two teams can’t be separated, in which case we’d be 15th outright following our 3-2 win over Villa on the opening day.

Edit: just realised this has already been discussed.

Agreed . The whole “big 6” thing is outdated . Before that it used to be the “big 4”.

It changes and sways with time . At the moment is very definitely a “big 3 “ with a smaller of cabal of realistic chasers for European spots and the rest have very little between them .

The difference between finishing mid table and being relegated is often decided by a few dodgy referring decisions , an unfortunate injury etc etc .

Better idea is to brick our goal up each half, and then have Foster shouting "BALLING" "Like Follow Subscribe!" with a megaphone.

The big six is based on revenue, Arsenal, Spurs and Utd are still way ahead of the rest of the other 14 clubs not in the big six, as far as revenue is concerned. That’s why they were in the ESL, not sporting merit, revenue. Whether they’re successful now or not is kind of irrelevant, they more than likely will be over a long enough timeline, compared to the rest of the league.

Certainly hope not, in fact I don’t think our manager would stand for it, he is the big difference at the moment over previous managers, he knows the league and as per Everton and yesterday is capable of delivering the unexpected, play like we did yesterday and we won’t lose next Sunday. Our forwards are coming together nicely, midfield rejuvenated yesterday and our defence also did pretty well!

Man U already rejected by Zidane.

Will anyone half decent want it on a temporary basis basically?

    They’ll want a long term contract .

I suspect had we not scored those 2 late goals OGS would still be in a job tbh.

The reason Man U wanted to be in the ESL was because they couldn't be beaten by teams like us or Leicester in that.

He might be a Legend as a player, but if they have him it would be because he is available! not because he is a great manager!

We are on equal points with Brentford, yet bookies still have them as up to 4/1 to go down and us odds-on/evens.

Are they that good? The difference is we have improved vs the start of the season

If you think Brentford will likely finish below us, then it's decent value.
