I don't mind players playing badly but Sarr's attitude stank.
A low rent Zaha at present, constantly left JN exposed.

We’re just so wasteful in possession. Sarr is as lazy a player as you’ll ever find.

As for the ref he was just shocking.

three first half corners in a row straight into the goalies hands, he didn’t even have to move to claim the ball.

    Deulofeu >>>>>>> Sarr. Fact.

God I miss him. At least he was fun to watch and positive with the ball. Sarr is unbearably frustrating.

Geri was the same age Sarr is now when he signed for us initially - that does not stand up favourably for Ismaila in comparison.

Deulofeu was far, far more talented than Sarr. I have no idea how he's performing now in Italy after the injury, but give me 18/19 season Deulofeu over any version we've seen so far of Sarr any day of the weak.

All that pace and won't use it because he's lazy and hasn't got any balls. Would rather spoon a dog **** cross straight to the keeper from deep five times a game. He hasn't really improved ag all since he's come here. Maybe that's our fault, maybe it's his, maybe it's both, but the end result is that he's overrated and not what we need in a relegation battle.

Was that supposed to be trick or treat? They didn't have a treat for us, and all the tricks were left a Goodison Park last weekend.

Different coach, same old deficiencies. We will simply not win enough games to stay up with the likes of William Troost Ekong, Craig Cathcart & Adam Masina lining up regularly for us in defence.

Can’t recall which Soton player got to the ball and won a header for their goal but he was way more alert than any of our defenders, just another costly lapse in concentration.

Sarr was woeful, body language stunk. Went down too easily, worth nowhere near £40 million at all. AT ALL.

Ken Sema least impactful substitute I’ve ever seen in my life, what was the point? Pedro was brilliant, only player on our team who could play a pass and operate in tight spaces.

Southampton were ****, we were worse. They just took 3 points off a relegation rival.

Find it hard to blame Ranieri apart from the subs, how can you polish a turd?

    Thought Ngakia did really well.

Home games are becoming incredibly tedious, really struggling to find any joy visiting The Vic right now, takes ages to get into the stadium, takes ages to get out, it’s cold, it’s torture for 90 mins, no patterns of play, not many shots on goal, raises your blood pressure and puts you to sleep in equal measure.

    Sigh.

Well, that was a bump down to earth after last week.

A back four of Ngakia, Cathcart, Ekong and Masina is a disgrace at this level. Sure, some are playing because of injury and some were less bad than others today, but it was hideous negligence to leave our squad in a position where that lineup was even a possibility. We looked vulnerable every time Southampton attacked and they literally were able to walk into our box with little effort.

We lacked urgency and any ideas. Whilst there was some nice interplay between the front 4 in the first half, we were so woefully open in midfield. It makes me wonder how we prepare for a game like this. We have a week and yet we looked like we'd turned up and been surprised we were facing Southampton at 3pm.

Sarr can **** off now. That was the most hideously half arsed performance I've seen from a player in some time. He looks like he's already got a move booked in and he has just stopped caring. Whatever the reality, he needs dropping. I can forgive poor performance but not the absolute criminal lack of effort our most expensive player showed today.

Overall, whatever hope last week gave me has evaporated. We look doomed. Southampton were far from impressive and yet again, this was a winnable home game that we completley spurned. There aren't many more games that we can hope to realistically win this year, but our weak willed, gutless team look happy to roll over week after week, with a decent performance every 2 months or so.

There's still much to loathe about this team and this squad and I fear it's a squad that is going to take us down into oblivion.

    Bunch of ****s.

    Well that was disappointing…

The atmosphere at the Vic has been as equally poor this season. 18 months of not being allowed at the football and the best we can do it chant a couple of repetitive songs for about 5 mins before the players walk out.

Every week the away fans out-sing the home crowd.

Technically we nearly scraped a draw via Fletcher at the end but it would have been a bit of a robbery, Armstrong (what a frickin ledge by the way) alone should have scored 3

Can’t lose games like that and expect to stay in this league

Also, I don’t have the stats to back it up and I’m not quite sure how you do quantify it but I’m convinced we take the most touches to get the ball out our box from an opposition attack?

WTE heads it upwards, Cathcart slices it, Masina passes it straight to them, it just consistently takes so bloody long for us to get rid of danger, it’s infuriating.

I'm not sure what Ranieri is supposed to do with a group of players who can't pass, can't win headers, can't win tackles, can't track men, can't defend, make multiple individual mistakes, make horrible decisions and just generally can't be arsed to put the work in.

    January can't come soon enough.

Our only hope is Sierralta and Nkoulou coming in. On paper that should be an immeasurable upgrade on Ekong and Cathcart, who both need the firing squad.

"Is This A Library?" Heard that one a few times at the Vic. We only wake up when we play well, but if there is no effort from the players, why should we always have to be the 12th man when the eleven on the pitch seem happy with a 1-0 loss?

How can we trust our owners to act in our team's interests in Jan, when they've been happy enough to see Cathcart around the first team for 7 years.

As @Smudger likes to claim, Ngakia repeatedly showing himself to not be a very good defender is somehow evidence that he's a very good defender.

To be fair, Sema wouldn't have got any minutes had Dennis not been suspended. He's rightfully only our 3rd choice left winger.

We could clearly do with another winger though once the Afcon comes around.

Maybe it was because Sarr wasn’t helping but first half they were all over us down that flank.

2nd half was maybe less obvious but they kept the ball well compared to us.

Frustration i guess and they played on it with the ref being fussy .

I enjoyed the result last week against Everton. I was out with my son, l had to reboot the phone in order to check that the score was correct. We both couldn't believe it.
Though it was a good result, it remained to be seen if we could actually beat another relegation candidate. Apart from Norwich, the answer is a resounding no.
We were outplayed by Newcastle and got away with a 1-1 trashing. We were very easily beaten by Southampton and Leeds. These three teams saw us as 3 simple points to pick up.
Failure to win against the teams around us will ultimately lead us back into the Championship.
We have WTF and Cathcart in defence . One was ok in the Championship and the other is of League One standard only.
To let Adams score is an embarrassment to any club.
Defeat was expected, but it is still a disappointment all the same.
We need to play another side like Everton who at 2-1 thought they would go on a score a hat full, so much so that every Everton player wanted to score and defending was forgotten.
On to next week and at least something to look forward to next weekend, shopping in Auchan Supermarche on Saturday and lunch by the lake on Sunday.
At least in the Championship we have three options, Promotion, mediocre or relegation.
    Enjoy your weekend..
