I am so technically inept that, if I tried to do a “selfie” blog, I’d probably end up pointing the camera the wrong way and filming the wall instead like that bloke who went viral after accidentally filming himself instead of his holiday.

I'll do it, but the language will be tempered because I'm in the family stand.

Two years ago at St Mary's, the Watford fans were singing "how **** must you be, we're winning away". Loved the locals' response: "how **** must you be, it's only 1-0."

Well, normally, wouldn't you just moan a bit and go ho-hum and wait until the next match instead of presenting opportunities to enforce stereotypes in the vast echo chambers of the internet. I just find it deeply amusing that in this age of instant self-gratification that you should post your wails and moans and not expect to have the mickey taken out of you. Long gone are the days of secret personal diaries and introspection. but those are the times we live in. Any fans with a sense of entitlement, and there are plenty of those do spout.

With regards to Everton, ever since we were promoted to to the Top Division under the Pozzos there has always been this snide, looking down the nose, you're nothing compared to the mighty Toffees attitude towards us, which became exacerbated when they tried to poach Silva from us. So, it's nice to get one over them and to finally win at Goodison after some very close attempts (there were at least 3 other occasions we should have done this). A spell for them outside the top flight would do them the world of good and give them the opportunity for much needed grounding. Obviously, not all Evertonians are like that, but they're not the ones spouting off.

Just more evidence of how the insidious spread of 'social media' has turned many people into narcissists with mush for brains.

In the few seconds immediately after a Watford goal I would be completely incapable of holding onto my phone, let alone having the presence of mind to film my 'spontaneous' celebration.

Yes, but that was an end of season mutiny rather than an early Halloween experience.

Now that our Everton (A) hoodoo has been consigned to the dustbin. Are there any other teams, home or away, that we have failed to beat in the League or Cup? I can't think of any. Anyone else any the wiser?

Only team we haven't beaten in the PL era is Man City.

It could well do and both teams are evenly matched and it will be a real scrap. However, if Saints do win, I will not be the one saying how dare tinpot Southampton, who do they think they are, beating the mighty Horns. That was what made beating Newcastle 3 times in one season so satisfying after their 'pygmies in the land of giants' quote. Anyone who does have that attitude really does not get football and following your team through the good and inevitably sh1te times.

Last season's sh1tefest at Huddersfield was Dec. The 1-4 was the Sannino 'down tools' match after he was trying to stop their holidays at the end of the season.

I was thinking pre-PL. I assume we have won at some point at Maine Road.

The annoying part from some of those vlogs is the guy in front who stands up so we miss the goals. One of the Everton vlogs showed the build up for our 3rd and just as King was sidefooting it into the goal, the bloke in front stood up so we didn't see it.

Yeah, we won 3-1 in an FA Cup replay at Maine Road in the late 80s (I think) I remember Neil Smillie was on the scoresheet.

Scurge of the modern game these fan vloggers. They also seem to be fronted by the most massive nerdy virgins - must be a calling for them

Couldn’t agree more. Manchildren and uglies that can’t get on TV normally filming their own videos in the desperate attempt to be ‘famous’ or ‘viral’. My absolute biggest bugbear is when they put some sort of fake face on the thumbnail.

I’ve been looking through YouTube at the Watford FC ones today. Good lord. If ever a fan base was defined by its ‘vloggers’.

I might do a thread reviewing them all. Might help them with their numbers.

What was unusual was that it occurred in first half of the season as opposed to our customary collapse in the final third.

Have to say the Everton fans were the nicest bunch of fans Ive met on an away day. We got a congratulated several times as we left.

The stewards however, were absolute xxxx's. It was clearly a jolly out for them to try and clobber a few young lads.

I found exactly the opposite with the three stewards I encountered, including the one that I asked, whilst in the stand, for the whereabouts of the sh*t house. He replied, with a smile on his face, that I was standing in it.

We won 1-0 there in the league as well - was there to see a john barnes free kick from the touchline go through everyone and in at the far post - 1985 ?

A colleague in the past, who ironically trousered a load of Saudi money to set up a collaborative facility in the Department I was working in at the time, was a long standing Evertonian and told me he could remember standing on the terraces at half-time at Goodison with his hands in his coat pockets, as if he left them unstuffed then they would be rapidly filled with warm liquid, which would also be cascading down the terraces at the time too. Delightful. The good old 60s and 70s.

All clubs have their fair share of decent supporters and undesirables including Watford. From my old vantage point in The Rookery I had the nicest, friendliest family on my left, decent people behind, club employees in front of me, and the family from hell on my right. C'est la vie.
