Tirana is a beautiful city, money well spent indeed. 70% of Albanian schoolchildren can speak English, or was it 60% ?
I was wrong... Livramento, 18, and Broja, 20, have played together in the Chelsea academy since the age of nine but Saints are the beneficiaries of the Cobham production machine.
Unfortunately, I don't think he is. I thought the same but Southampton play Chelsea mid week and I read that that counts as his third missed game.
Make sure Ward-Prowse does not get the chance to deliver too many corners or take free kicks near the box. I hope we carry the positivity into this match and come at Southampton within reason as they are a dangerous team in their own right. Hopefully we will not see a Brighton, Leeds, Liverpool type performance again this season with Ranieri at the helm.
I'll go for Watford 7-1 Southampton and will look forward to a nice yellow pen from the Hornet Shop a week later.
WP is so good at free kicks, that I think we need to take special measures, which will be unexpected. He's almost certainly going to get at least one chance during the game and he usually puts them in against us. What I'd like to see Watford do, just for this one game, is put a player at each post. This will reduce the space in which to aim at and will be a little off putting to Ward-Prowse I would think, as he wouldn't be expecting it. A player at either post and a keeper in the middle should dramatically improve our chances of not conceding. Of course the flip side to that is Southampton can place their own players next to ours and would be onside, but this is why it has to be done in a stealth way, just before the kick is taken which will catch out the Southampton players.
Loved reading that @Klein Lust. Dead interesting and fair play for sticking with Watford. You've definitely got a unique relationship with this club. Diolch a ie, ry'n ni yma o hyd er gwaethaf pawb o phopeth! (I'd love to learn more Welsh and that video's got some great pointers in it. Nice one!)
I did a broadly similar thing to @Klein Lust when picking an NFL team. When I got into it the Pats were largely dominating as usual, who I saw as bit like the Man Utd of the time of NFL, so I decided to support the Colts, as they were their closest rival at the time in terms of threading to win Super Bowls. They’ve been absolute shyte ever since, but once you pick you’re stuck.
Ward-Prowse you little ledge! Pinged one in from 40 yards straight down the middle of the goal, I didn't even see it but you've got to keep smiling!
I'm still scarred by the horrors of our last home game against Soton. As someone with a birthday in late June I ordinarily would never see a competitive Watford game played on my birthday, so I was partly looking forward to the novelty of being treated to this in 2020. But we were terrible, lost 3-1 and it was one of the many nails into our relegation coffin. I sincerely hope it is the last time I see a competitive Watford game on my birthday, so I would appreciate if mankind can steer clear of any future pandemics or nuclear wars. As for Saturday, despite a great result at the weekend it's hard to be confident about Southampton at home. Perhaps tainted by past experiences such as the one above, but despite this being a firmly 'winnable' fixture it seems we never do. A quick google tells me we haven't beaten them at the Vic since 2007. To be fair I recall that was a belter of a game, a 3-2 win with a last minute Henderson winner. It also came in the middle of a 6 match win streak for us against the Saints. Sadly, since that streak ended we have beaten them just once in FOURTEEN attempts. ONCE! Yeah I'll take a point if we play decently. Prediction Watford 2-3 Southampton King (23, 68); Redmond (72, 85, 90+3)
You may want to check the Ben Foster thread where your theories on Foster from Saturday have been thoroughly and analytically shown to be complete nonsense by @reids
You realise me replying to you on a football thread regarding a goalkeeper in no way whatsoever shows that I'm even 1% wound up right? Deny my family hospital appointments, bully my kid, get your dog to endlessly sh*t in my garden - that'll wind me up. But your numerous, ridiculous theories on goalkeeping are mere childs play. I notice you didn't reply to @reids learned input on the thread by the way. I wonder why....
Actually I did princess, I admitted he didn't execute well. However, I've moved on sweetheart, Everton's done, gone. We won, it's done, I'm more interested in this Saturday. Foster playing seems to upset you, that's your problem to deal with, not mine.
Just as a heads up - you have not commented on the graph Reids posted as you have claimed. More nonsense. Probably because it completely debunks your many, many posts but hey ho, you do you.
