We are all of varying ages, tastes and cultures. Thinking back to when you were a child, be that the decade of 1940s' to today's "Millennials", is there one tune that takes you back to that time?

For me, it has to be Jan Hammer's masterpiece of Synth, Crockett's Theme from the T.V show Miami Vice.

CU When U Get There by Coolio, we always used to listen to that when we went to the Isle Of Wight on family holidays.

For me, it's probably Sing a Song of Sixpence, then Ballroom Blitz by The Sweet and then 'Zeeeeegaa! Zaaaggga! Zeega zaga, zeega zaga..up your arse!'

Bohemiun Rhapsody from 1975. I remember clearly that it was on the radio every morning before school as it was no.1 for so long and I hated it with a passion. Luckily over the years I've come to appreciate it greatly.

The Racoons theme tune was legendary:

One of my most beloved childhood animations. Title song was great, the end credit song "Run with Us" was and always will be one of the best iconic 80's tunes in children's television. What drew me to the Raccoons', apart
from the brilliant hand-drawn animation, was the mature feel to the show. Sophia was my fave character, but they were all good. Sneer was a great bad guy, but also a good father at heart. Nothing that has come out since
    then has matched this show.

Until you said that I’d totally forgotten about the end credits being different as well, that’s possibly even better than the main theme tune.

I have never heard of the Raccoons.

This however, was a classic from my era:

Wow, I’d forgotten how good this theme was. Loved this programme. Dreamed of going on it. Went downhill when they brought the jester bloke in. I met Treguard at a book signing when I was a kid. Nice bloke.

And another one, iconic. Would never get made today. First tv cliffhanger I ever experienced in the episode where Berk had enough and left at the end of the series.

Most of the eighties sports and documentary themes. Far better than the nonsense they use now. The BBC had some fantastic in house music arrangers, composers and tune writers whose work is now receiving the attention it should.

    Some examples of this:

Fond memories of Peter Davison and Adric, Tegan and Nyssa.

Nigel Starmer-Smith introducing the rugby and wondering why Leicester Tigers wore A to O on their shirts.

BBC Horizon when it was a science programme. Starts at one minute ten seconds.

I had forgotten that about the Leicester rugby team. A bit like Celtic only wearing numbers on their shorts and not on their backs.

    "ENTER STRANGER" :D

Loved it. Only thing that took me out of the fantasy as a kid of the show, was the 'life force'. It was never ran in "real time", just sort of reacted to the events of the here and now. Maybe i'm just being nit picky - but overall the graphics used were way
ahead of there time. Some of the actors they used were not too corny and did a good portrait of who they were trying to be. I quite fancied the 'Maiden' character ;)

I really wanted to go on this as well. Used to drive me insane when the kids who did actually get on it would lose within the first few minutes. Their team would say "Take two steps left", only for them to go right instead and disappear down a computer generated chasm.
