When talksport call out your players for not caring and being unfit. When they mock your club for sacking managers week after week. When talksport rip into fans leaving early at 4 nil down You know what's coming Monday
Yeah. We should only have players who aren't good enough for us. If they're good enough for a 15th place premier league team, they'll get snapped up by a top 14 side.
Were more Liverpool fans around me in the SEJ stand than there were Watford. Disgusting performance (again!), made worse by the fact that our tinpot fanbase are happy to give away their tickets to Liverpool fans.
Two starts and two goals. Better than the crap our front line has served up in recent games without him starting. I'd certainly consider him to start at Everton. If we go with 4 4 2, stick him up top with Pedro. Sarr in his correct position on the wing and Dennis through the middle.
Typical Watford. So close to getting a good result only for Firmino to score with the last kick of the game. Still, only losing 5-0 is not too shabby. I’m sure Scunthorpe would have done a lot worse against Liverpool today. Fabio Cannavaro was at the game today. He’s 48, so hopefully we’re looking to sign him. He’s out of contract too.
I got in 7 minutes late, kind of wish I'd arrived another minute late tbf! I thought this new ticketing system was supposed to stamp out touting, but apparently not
The team played as though they were scared of Liverpool. We got what we deserved. Sod clapping an opposition goal, get in the bin of you did.
Yep. He was at least a physical presence obstructing part of his goal, which meant he didn't actively contribute to making it easier for them to score, which means he was slightly better than Catchaer, Ekong, Kiko, Rose, Masina and Kucka.
Didn't actually have many saves to make, but his kicking... We still shouldn't have been so open for the first goal, but it all stemmed from the goal kick
I reacted to the first opposition goal, by rapidly finishing the last of my chicken (to the point I got a touch or heartburn) and then walking out on the second.
Fletcher, Pedro, Cleverley and Nkoukou must start vs Everton. Listen to my pod where we'll be discussing this and more.
I’m worried. If Ranieri has had 2 weeks of seeing then and then put that line-up out, it’s absolutely damning. Masina has never been good enough for the PL. We can’t play with an assortment of wingers up front. We can’t struggle by with the defenders we have. Gino must accept and rectify the recruitment ASAP. Rose was beyond abysmal. But I won’t go off the deep end assuming what will come from him from here as he’s been our best player before today. Salah has done that to far better players. He’s worthy of more time and opportunity. Masina though - no. Get rid. Should never have been seen as a PL option.
You are obviously are taking the piss Lloyd, but I tell you what it might just be worth giving him a shot after all he has only featured in two matches and he has scored in both, which is better than most of our other so called forwards.
I hope it was just a horses for courses type thing, I can't imagine even at the best of times when we have all 5 CBs available that we'll play 3 at the back! Theoretically I can understand it, but when the 3rd centre back is Masina...nope
His distribution may not have been great, but his main job is keeping the ball out of the net and he did that very well IMO, and I don't think he can be blamed for any of their goals. So how can you say he was absolutely ****
I feel sorry for those that went today, I had the luxury to see the line up and decide to not bother watching the game as it was very obvious what was going to happen. On the bright side, over 4.5 Liverpool goals came in which will pay for a curry and beers tonight.
Foster was very good at coming to the edge of his box and claiming dangerous balls in behind the team, and took a number of crosses. The should have saved the first long range Salah effort (And did) whilst the 2nd effort from Salah was a legitimately good save as that was bending and much harder to read. For the goals conceded, he wasn't directly responsible for any of them. But it doesn't gloss over he has severely degraded since 18/19 and that his distribution, although was better today is still far below what is acceptable for even Championsip level, let alone PL level and one goal came from him giving it away albeit it had to go through some of the team to then come back at him. His long kicking is shockingly poor and his throws are going awry too. Really, we need a new GK generally.
It made no difference to the outcome and shouldn't be used to excuse a truly woeful performance, but how on earth is the third goal allowed? Genuine question - is interfering with play not a thing any more? I don't think you should ever be penalised for playing to the whistle rather than stopping - as bad as Cathcart is he clearly doesn't slide in like that if Salah isn't about to be through on goal.
But he didn't really, did he. WTE, Cathcart, Masina, Kucka, Sarr, Tufan, Louza were all away on international duty. No chance for him to see the only 2 fit CBs he's been given, or any chance to realise how poor Masina could be. I'm concerned how many coaches seem determined to try Sarr centrally; QSF, Ivic and now Ranieri. He really needs to be running onto through balls hit between the CB & LB. The acid test will be how we are set up at Everton, and, crucially, how the players actually perform.
It's too late for that though - we'll be in the relegation zone come January and then no one decent will want to join us anyway.
