You won’t catch me calling for his head. I’ll be warm, kind and patient.

Until I suddenly snap at something menial, like a couple of foul throws or poor body language, and do everything in my power to rid us of his scourge.

In all seriousness, I flipped a coin and decided I’m genuinely going to be a clapper for the next few months.

Which is lucky, as I’m a bit bored of playing heel.

If Claudio (tailored) suits up on the touch line like a suave Italian of his age should, I’ll be loath to ever blame him for anything.

If he ignores the sartorial heritage of his country of birth and drowns himself in a puffer jacket and beanie hat on the sidelines, just like he does at training, I’ll want him gone before Liverpool’s first goal in his first game (about 20 seconds in).

You're god damn right. Figure hugging dark suit, crisp shirt, tie, thin scarf, stern look.

Until the first goal goes in, then bedlam. Tie off, shirt torn open, right up in klopps grill.

    Mama fhukin meeaaaa!

QSF was much more partial to unstructured double breasted jackets/blazers in softer fabrics with t-shirts underneath and separates for trousers, and/or figure-hugging merino pullovers, with a scarf thrown on over the top - generally a more relaxed, casual form of sartorial elegance, with a mild touch of sprezzatura, perhaps, even.

I'll take an Italian over a Spaniard all day long. No hesitation. You cannot even compare them.

Spanish cheese is an abomination. Put manchego in Google translate and it returns 'ape di ck cheese'. True story

Edit, thank you mods for banning d i ck, you've saved 1,000 small children from going to hell.

This is patent nonsense, I’m afraid. Manchego is a superb cheese.

    This forum plumbs new depths.

Spanish cuisine sucks folks. From the nasty dry salty meat, the horrid bland rice national dish (peasant food), to its mediocre wines and, yes, its piss poor cheese selection.

    Just incomparable to Italian.

Name me one scenario where you pick Spanish over Italian? Just one.

    It's subpar.

    Cava > Prosecco.

Albarino > well, I can’t think of a decent Italian white wine. Er… Pinot Grigio?

I agree Italy is streets ahead on food though. Except cheese.

Sauvignon blanc is the greatest white wine grape and you can't even grow it in Spain!

    Prosecco/Cava is a children's drink.

Ha! Methinks it’s for the ladies.

The best white wine is NZ Sauvignon Blanc. End of.

    Albarino is very nice, though.

    What about premium mainstream lager?

Spain surely wins as the main two Italian ones aren’t actually Italian.

Yeah, but lager’s not a proper drink. Albeit acceptable when it’s warm. In fact, I’ve just finished a San Miguel.

Anyway, the Germans are the master race here.

Poretti is a nice Italian lager as it goes, albeit owned by Carlsberg.

I love Belgium beer immensely. And German, Czech. All are wonderful.

But the king of beers for me is.... us. The UK. I'm as serious as cancer.

My last drink on death row would be an English (or Welsh) ale. No doubt about it.

I'm on Peroni as we speak but nothing does the job like old skool 5.2% Stella .
Does anyone know where this can be purchased?. Asking for a friend .

Lot of extremely good breweries both in London and further afield, for sure - Kernel in London and Left Handed Giant in Bristol among them.

I also pine for the halcyon days of the real 5.2% Stella. Excellent brew. Then they dropped it to 5% to make it just about palatable. What's the point of the current 4.8% manifestation?

What really doesn't make any sense is that there is also a Stella 4% on draught which competes with the
other necking lagers , Fosters Carlsberg etc
