Alternatively , a different character who was given a new job , exceeded all expectations , then was sacked , might be a bit bitter about it.

Gino could put out a full team if ex-Watford managers I reckon.

Pearson at CB as a captain.

Zola and Ivic could make a classic little/large partnership up top. Xisco flying down the wing. The Joka adding some steel in the middle.

Can't be arsed to look at where all of the others played tbh. Thoughts?

That is why he is needed Chumlax. A little mental madness might do something to relieve the insipid attitude. I really believe we go out as a side sometimes and are already beaten by the name of the opposition. There is absolutely no excuse for the ineptitude and lack of energy/aggression shown against Brighton, Newcastle and Leeds. GT would never send a side out with that attitude. Even when the team was in the depths against higher level opposition the motto was give them a game and a going over. Leave it all out on the pitch.

Have we over trained ? That might account for the sudden spate of injuries. As for the suggestions they were a joke. Heinze is as inflexible as Xisco. My way or the highway. Beccacece is an excellent analyst though.

I really like Xisco as a person. Lovely man and as I mentioned previously he will always be welcome here. After all he did get us promoted and engendered a great team spirit. I hope he does go onto more success. All managers experience failure at some point, it's how they cope and adjust that defines them.

I do feel for him in the sense he was vastly inexperienced. No experienced assistant was brought in to help him as with Burkinshaw with Boothroyd. And the transfer window was hardly what you call inspiring. And some of the blame must go to the higher ups who always insist they are learning lessons. If they had not faffed about in the relegation season resting on their laurels along with the side and we had more players like Holebas we would not be here discussing this.

Still playing at the ripe old age of 37. Scored yesterday in the fourth tier of German football. Wonder if he's finally transitioned to the left winger I think he always wanted to be...

This is their cunning plan to keep our manager turnover up to par, while they enjoy their 'stability leading to success'

Agreed. Something wonderfully un-Watford about a player being permanently disgusted by those around him not wanting to win as much as he did. Early signs are promising that Danny Rose could also be in this camp.

Completely agree. Never understood why people were turned off by him being so competitive and wanting to win. We wouldn't have gone down if the rest of the team had inherited that determination.

I think it was because he wasn’t actually that good at football, and for some fans playing with a permanent grimace on his face didn’t magically make up for that.

Because he was a born, cutthroat winner. We don’t like them around our club as the fans are happy being plucky losers and waving flags during the worst defeat in our history.

Agreed on both counts. Rose is the shining star of this season. The only non disgrace v Leeds I reckon.

Everything about holebas was great, from the fact he made it clear he didn't want to sign for us in the first place but still gave his all, ace long shots, hard as nails, sent one of our fans private messages in the relegation season, the bizarre clothing line... What's not to like?

But of course our brain dead fans never forgave him for faking injury to try and trick the ref into getting an oppositions goal disallowed.

To be fair I think peak Ronaldo or Messi would have looked a disgrace against Leeds. The team was incoherent from start to finish. You're on a hiding to nothing in that situation.

Holebas is the sort of player this current crop are missing. Not the best football gifted, but he was grafter. He was never afraid to go in for a challenge (his yellow card tally is pretty impressive), he was up for a battle (most of the time) and he could take a corner a lot better than some of the players we have now. He also got a bit hotheaded but that was part of who he was. He wasn't perfect - but for the time he was with us, I think most fans' appreciated him for what he did.

Lol, we're 7 games down and already not beat Newcastle, Leeds, Wolves or Brighton.

We haven't faced, City, Chelsea, United or Liverpool.

And in Ranieri's last stint in the Prem, his record reads: played 17, won 3, drew 3, lost 11, scored 16, conceded 34.

He's managed some wonderful football clubs but 17 days shy of his 70th birthday Claudio Ranieri does not excite me one bit.

No, we're good - was just saying that of the players other than Rose, I don't blame them for looking garbage with the way they were set up. We just had no plan at all so most of them were bound to look crap.

Fully agree Rose was the best looking player out there and the rest looked poor.

You implied his win rate at Sampdoria wasn't good, I replied that it's good enough for a team like us.
