Watching Brentford with much envy right now. An assistant, who then succeeds and goes on to be a successful manager? With brilliant recruitment, what a dream.

He most certainly would not be my choice but good luck to Ranieri if this is correct

Agreed. He's an upgrade on XM for sure, but then again who isn't? Hopefully he can make a better job of it than he did at Flam.

If true ,could be bloody brilliant or a complete disaster . But a premier league winning manager nonetheless.

Mental seeing people turn their nose up at Ranieri after the clowns we've appointed through the years.

Potentially past his best to some extent, but still a proper manager with proper pedigree. The man won the Premier League ffs, and even now he's coming in off the back of doing a very good job at Sampdoria in Serie A.

People rambling on about Fulham, do you think we're going to get someone in with a perfect record?

Just because he played 4-4-2 at Leicester, it doesn't mean he'll play 4-4-2 for us tbf

Just looked more at his time at Sampdoria, did well last season, but crucially and coincidentally, the season before he came in for a sacked manager after 7 games and kept them up. It was also his decision to not extend his contract.

That managerial expert off the telly turned his nose up at Ranieri 7 years ago and his boys won the league! While I'd settle for 17th by the skin of our teeth (truthfully I wouldn't be too disappointed with going down as long as we show fight!), and while I'd have preferred Diego Martinez, Ranieri has shown that he's still got it, and would surely be a big upgrade on Xisco

Looking at Watford's next 10 fixtures. I just cannot see us picking more than 4 points. Therefore, Ranieri will be sacked before Christmas, is my prediction.

Hopefully he will be given time then after the tough run coming up ..

Will people call for his or whoever the new man is if we don’t win or play well for a bit ?

I think it's moat important that we pick our formation irrespective of the players that we have.

Well, considering our paucity of centre backs, I think we can discount playing much 3-4-3/3-5-2 this season, but it's the kind of mixture of formations you'd come to expect from a manager nicknamed 'The Tinkerman'!

Forthcoming fixtures are currently only being played on paper.

With the right man in charge, no more injuries and a bit of luck too I’d be more hopeful than some of picking up some reasonable points.

Southampton are winless, Leicester not firing, West Ham losing every match after a European tie, etc. Clutching at straws but we play some of the big four straight after Champions League too, so they might rotate a little (or a lot).

It’s a tough run on paper for sure but it would be a dull game to follow if we all knew the results in advance.
