I don’t like the way the club is run. I think Xisco deserved a chance after getting us up but today’s decision had an inevitable feel about it.

I hope he goes on to do well elsewhere. He has been hampered by our transfer dealings this summer but we have underperformed in quite a few games this season and he didn’t seem capable of changing it.

Sir Eddie is quite high up in the odds lol

(Cue the usual replies telling me he wouldn’t work under our system etc)

I don’t get why people who support other clubs (or know **** all, like telly pundits) give two *****. Think of something interesting to say instead of just parroting mock outrage.

I'm absolutely disgusted by this decision by Gino and co.

Xisco has come in and done everything asked of him. He deserved at least until Christmas to turn it around and see if the new squad could gel.

Our starting 11 yesterday featured 6 players who were not here last season.

    A team doesn't happen overnight.

Our coaches need time to make things click. The Pozzos are fools. Xisco will go on to be successful at a much more stable club than ours.

I'm happy with either Martinez or Ranieri

The former is clearly talented but no PL experience. The latter won the PL and is a wonderful human being with vast knowledge.

We can't defend anyway so why the hell not.

I'm actually quite furious that you lot haven't sacked your manager! FA cup winners, former league champs and now also rans. What a slide! Have some pride and sack someone ffs!

Howe couldn't agree terms with Celtic. I would of thought he'd throw Gino out the window in a heated argument over control issues if he was interviewed. Nice guy, but I think this squad needs a bit of a bulldozer to get a message across.

Eddie is a local boy. He would love to manage us. He could sign that striker we always used to be linked with that was a Watford fan.

Ranieri could go either way. Would be all over it but that season after winning the league with Leicester is a massive concern. That’s the rub though isn’t it, we’ll always be hiring someone with a big asterisk next to their name

Might make Lineker’s head explode though, so worth it just for that.

Honestly it makes sense. They want Xisco's personality but with experience and tactical know-how.

    That man is Claudio Ranieri.

Plus his spell at Fulham was disastrous as well. I wouldn't say no though, I get why the club would appoint him.

Got us promoted and leaves us in mid table. Did the job asked of him.

Had many limitations so can understand the club taking action, important we get the appointment right this time, unlike 2019/20.

Michael Owen was one of my favourite England players, I was lucky enough to see some of his first competitive games for England at WC 98 (including THAT goal) just as I was getting into football - just as well he let just his football do the talking!

If it’s Ranieri, it’s our second successive new PL manager who was at Leicester and who will start his reign by playing Liverpool.

Great man manager, but with very little tactical nous.

Thanks "Kid" you did a good job in getting us promoted through your man management skills, but IMO you were always out of your depth when it came to tactics.

Good luck for the future and please don't be a stranger as you will always be a welcome visitor back at The Vic.

He didn’t help himself though by putting on the underwhelming Sema instead of Cucho and while Sierralta going was a blow, Kabasele was the obvious and really only sub to make. If we’d lost Sarr and Rose that would’ve have been a bigger blow which might’ve necessitated a formation change.

I feel a mixture of sadness and relief over this . No doubt Xisco did a marvellous job in getting us up and uniting the team and was the right man at the time . He is far from the ‘clown’ which some people have disrespectfully referred to him as.

There may well be a great manager in there , but he has really only managed a handful of matches and the last two performances have shown some worrying signs that this side could be in line for a few batterings. If it wasn’t for this , I’d honestly have been happy for us to give him his chance to build something long term , even if we got relegated ( though I know the owners would never do this ) , but those performances suggest this could have been disastrous ,

I really wish him well and hope the club make the right appointment. There is no doubt we need a manager who can set us up to be organised , keep it tight and make use of our counter attacking abilities .
Then we might have a chance.

    BBC:

The 41-year-old Spaniard helped win promotion to the Premier League last season after joining in December 2020.

Watford are 14th with seven points from seven games and Munoz's last match in charge was Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Leeds United.

"The board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving," the club said.

"The Hornets will always be grateful to Xisco for the part he played in securing last season's promotion and wish him well for his future career in football.

"No further club comment will be available until the imminent announcement of a new head coach."

Watford have had five managers in two years and there has been no indication of who will replace Munoz.

The boss has become the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season.

Watford had started their first season back in the top flight well with a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in their opener.

The club also knocked Crystal Palace out of the Carabao Cup in the second round.

However, results started to slip with just two league wins in the seven fixtures played this season and they made a third-round exit from the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 defeat to Stoke in September.

Watford will next play after the international break against Liverpool on 16 October in a league fixture.

Think you're cutting him short. Got us promoted and leaves us in mid table, and just as importantly, over saw the departure of dross like Andre. Good luck Xisco.

Ah well, here we go again.

Hamstrung by another voyage into the EPL where the people who make the decisions on who to sign don't seem to have any clue as to what they are doing. Thanks for last season Captain Xisco.

I'm afraid to say this was the right decision. I really like Xisco and he has not been given a great deal of help so ket's not forget where some of the blame also lies. With some of the players and higher ups. We need a manager who can make more of the squad we have and given help in January.

I wish Xisco the best and hope he does make it further in his managerial career. Thanks for the promotion and engendering a wonderful spirit in difficult times for fans and the club. I also hope someone has checked in on Jug Ears. He may have collapsed with the news.
