I bought a ticket for my teenage son last night and it wouldn't load, I rang the TO this morning and they said that if a ticket is bought with less than 24 hours to go to kick off, then you will need to pick up a paper ticket from the TO.

That is totally mad. The whole point of a digital system is that it should work within minutes.
I have just been to Scotland and went to visit Stirling Castle. They were only taking online bookings, I scanned the qr code spent a couple of minutes on the website buying our tickets. A minute later I got the tickets via email and we walked in.
It can be done, just another example of the WFC system being shockingly terrible.

That would explain it (and as FromDiv4 says - is totally stupid) - thanks!

What time out of interest? I got mine around 7.45 pm and the ticket seems to be working - couldn't get it working from the App but going to the website directly on my phone and downloading the ticket worked.

Yes, I bought mine on Saturday and tried numerous times to download and it won't. Emailed and pm'ed supporters services but no reply so called this morning and picking up a paper ticket.

My ST downloaded and works fine on NFC but not this ticket.

I tried to buy tickets today, but couldn't see how to register other people on my phone. I phoned the ticket office for authoritative guidance and they asked me all the relevant questions about people and where we wanted to sit. I assumed this would be loaded onto my phone but he finished by telling me I'd have to pick up paper tickets. Neither he nor the website told me that it's paper only when buying on matchday, and I still don't know how to get other people onto my account.

You can't register new people via your account. They (or you) have to set up new profiles in their own right, then you use their new FAN ID number and can add that as a relationship to your account. And at that point you can buy tickets for them.

Anyone being told by the ticket office that they have to pick up physical tickets if they bought them within 24 hours of a game should be asking for an explanation. If it’s down to the ticketing partner company then WFC should be asking them for an explanation. As others have said, it’s really not good enough.

I bought my ticket this morning, and it worked fine. Like this situation, the Watford FC app was dodgy, but it worked when I went on to the Watford FC website on my phone, logged in, found my ticket, and downloaded it. Then it loaded on Google Pay with no problem.

Got to the ground at ar0und 2:45 yesterday and thought I'd test the theory that you'd be able to get in with a screenshot of a mobile ticket as the stewards were just glancing at people's phones and letting them in with a master card.

I took a screenshot of m season ticket and got in with no issues whatsoever. Basically if you know somebody who is going to the game there is no need to buy a ticket yourself. Liverpool at the Vic on the 16th is going to be chaos with an unofficial crowd of about 30,000.

Worked absolutely fine at The Rookery. Swiped under the reader, using the QR code, and went straight through the gate.

Worked fine for me yesterday too. Apart from the kids having to be the other side of a turnstile from me for 2 min, the app was pretty seamless. Used NFC not QR.

Yes, sorry - I was scrolling through the thread but didn’t realise I hadn’t been on here for a while and that you were referring to a couple of weeks’ ago in that post, not yesterday.

Im thinking of taking my girls to the Southampton game in half term. What’s the score with their tickets? All on one phone and then they have to go through on their own?

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. They're 9 and 7. If they're younger, the stewards are pretty helpful.

Mine are 5 and 6. And unlike yours, who presumably know the drill as regulars, this’ll be their second ever game. Will definitely aim to get there early then.

Planning on moving my season ticket down to the family stand for the match. At least I think that’s something that can be done.

Fun and games yesterday, scan did not work, it worked for the two other games I have attended, bar code did not work. I had to go to the ticket office, they printed of my Southampton ticket, luckily I noticed before leaving the counter. I then had to get searched again. My mate then started letting out bad farts whilst in the ground. Shame.

They didn't even let me scan my ticket yesterday. The steward glanced at it and swiped me using his what I assume was their master card.

It's quite easy with an iPhone. Just make sure your season ticket is loaded in your "Wallet" app. It updates itself game by game and even detects when you're nearby.

That always happens at the UGT. Somewhat labour-intensive.

Thought one of the ideas was to stop ticket touts... Saw plenty on Saturday

Not a clue but there were loads of them and plenty of Liverpool fans celebrating in various stands as the goals flew in.

Just got my Man Utd and Man City tickets, Man City tickets are only £30, is that because we on the box and also that we know we will get spanked?
