I imagine the bit he’s struggling to understand is what that has to do with anything. It’s obviously clear in your head but I’m not sure you’re taking the rest of us with you.

    > Describes other posters as 'uneducated'.

You're on to a winner, my friend!

Hey, at least I’m not the one who seems to have taken great offence to Tom Cleverley being described as hard working.

So , anywho, back on topic and away from grammar stuff .

Which players in your opinion do not give 100% when they put on a Watford shirt ?

    One player will do .
    Then I can respond.
Or we can just go round and round this trash talk which is what you are hoping as you don't know what you are talking about.
Maybe you can prove me wrong and give me a name
    Maybe not
    Who knows
The floor is now yours to name names or just carry on with trash talk ......

I will also go on record and say that I'm not a Cleverley-hater - I respect him for his character, the way he has looked after himself compared to certain other recent characters of a similar age and club status, the element of leadership I assume he provides amongst the squad, and how hard he works on the pitch.

All that being said, there are few games in the Premier League that I would ideally like to see him starting at this point in his career.

Norwich was essentially the same game as it was last season, and it came off and worked well (although not quite as well as the occasional revisionist, admittedly much more popular on Twitter than here, takes, post-victory, now suggest).

In most games we will be facing, where we need more quality in midfield to hold the ball and bring it forward, and the opposition defence are less likely to be frightened by a player buzzing about them for 90 minutes, I would rather we play a more creative and dynamic midfielder in his place.

I'm sure there are games, and perhaps even more so parts of games, where he can be a very valuable contributor. But I don't believe they should form anywhere near a majority over the course of the season, and frankly, our somewhat frenzied midfield recruitment this summer has failed if they do.

Yeah I know. And you can keep writing it but it has nothing to do with Nath’s post that I can see. Feel free to spell it out so an uneducated sap can undertsand.

Trash talk it is then unless you wish to name the player(s) who should be in front of Cleverly?

Your brain is just firing at random, isn't it? You're not capable of justifying any of the utterly random, meaningless statements you fart out from even one post to the next. Not at any point here have you expressed a coherent thought relevant to the actual statements being made by other posters, or the issue under discussion.

You just don't have the career he's had as a midfielder for Man United and England without a decent level of technical ability. But he knows he's not the most naturally gifted, and makes up for it by being the most hard working player on the pitch.

Anyone that's played football knows how influential a player like that can be, who leads by example, and I don't think it's a coincidence we only lost 5 games in 32 with him in the starting line up last season (4 in 16 without), and our 2 wins this season came in games he's started.

In an ideal world he wouldn't be starting regularly, but he's certainly got an important role to play this season, on and off the pitch.

Yup. That’s how I see him too. There’ll be games that will suit other players that he’ll sit out and some games where we just need him to press hard for 45-60 minutes and then be subbed, but that’s fine. We need leaders.

My other half know nothing about football, but knows that Tom Cleverly’s principle contribution to a football team is his constant effort and hard work. That said you may also be interested in her other reflections on Saturday:-

Having spent the afternoon shopping in Norwich, she was sad to discover that the Norwich branch of John Lewis was a very dispiriting experience. Decidedly second division compared to the late lamented Harlequin branch.

What really surprised her about the Norwich set up on Saturday is why John Lewis did not close that branch. With the far superior Jarrold department store as competition, it surely could not have performed as well as the Watford outlet?

She did think Franks Bar would be a very good acquisition for Watford Town centre.

I like Foster. I think we could have 1, potentially 2 beers together with some enjoyable chat, I’d trust him to look after my dog but I really think I’d be pushed to ever have that third pint with the man.

Watched the match back today and noticed how much direction/communication Sissoko offers. He's always co-ordinating, pointing, talking to those around him. Given our recent lack of on-field leaders that's a welcome addition.

Looking a great buy for us so far.

Once again, The Observer can't be ar$ed to send anyone to cover a Watford game in person and resorted to the usual unpaid intern regurgitating Press Association copy. The undeniable truth that we and Norwich truly are tinpot clubs.

Thought Krul looked good tbh - not much he could do for the ones he conceded and stopped a couple of 1 vs 1s that would have gone in against us by coming out
