Yep, it's a legitimate concern. You'd like to think mistakes have been learnt from but, realistically, they probably haven't been.

I don't think Wolves will be anywhere near the relegation places, many of their fans going by the comments on Molineux Mix seem to think they'll at least equal their top 7 finishes in 2018/19 and 2019/20 and Lage has them playing better football than Nuno did, and although they may be biased, to me they make a pretty compelling case.

Better football, sure, although top 7 will be difficult now that Leicester have kicked on!

Think they’ll survive comfortably but the dizzy heights of 7 th seem a bit far. Their squad isn’t that big, a few injuries and suspensions away from a struggle. I know a few Neanderthals from there who wouldn’t argue.

What do you gain from coming on to other clubs forums and commenting mundane and boring statements? Do you not have friends or something ? It just seems like a sad thing to do. Get out more mate.

As today shows they might well be inconsistent.

Scored 1 goal themselves in 3 and a half games .

    Not ideal .

They foolishly come on here about this time every season gloating about how great Brighton are. Funnily enough you don’t hear from them later on in the season once they’ve slumped to 17th.

I would personally make an account on whatever forum he/she is part of just to gloat if we scored the goal that sent then down on a particular season. I do agree though, he only appears when we play them and lose, don't hear a
sniff if we beat them or draw. It goes both ways.

Another 8 wins and 6 draws from 33 games would give us 36 points which would probably be enough.

Hoping this is finally Newcastle's year. Average manager, poor defence, aging midfield. Don't think ASM, Willock and Wilson will be able to carry them

Obviously early days but one of my bigger concerns so far is we don't looking we have a draw in us. The Wolves game last week in particular was an example of poor game management to enable a pretty poor opposition to pressure us into giving them the lead. Then at 0-1 we showed zero desire to get back level.

At PL level we can live with not winning a few on the bounce without massive damage being done to our survival chances - but it's crucial a few draws are in the mix when that happens.

True, and you can also apply the same logic to Spurs. We were certainly never out of that game score wise, and if Bachmann had been better positioned that free kick from Son doesn't go in. It's all ifs buts and maybes, like the
last time we were in the Premiership. Penalty at Spuds. Handball vs Southampton it all adds up come May.

Right now though, we have to (as much as possible) stop making mistakes that are totally avoidable like Masina's wreckless challenge against Villa. If we cut out these mistakes we will have a much better cushion of points to
fall back on when we hit a really tough run of games. Next month is on paper, our hardest set of fixtures on after the other. If we can beat Newcastle and then hopefully get at least a point a Leeds that gives us 10. Get November out of the way
and try not to get slapped to hard in those games - then of course theirs the seasonal hiding from Man City early December. What we have around Xmas would be the basis of if we survive or not. I am confident we can make a fist of this season,
as long we learn from schoolboy errors past.

The bottom 3 now wouldn’t be a bad bet to end up there come may. Sure lots will happen before then with managers coming and going etc. But Norwich look like their doomed already and the way Burnley and Newcastle are getting run they could all lose a lot of ground early on.

Even in the relegation season, when we had the second highest number of draws in a Prem season (the highest, funnily enough, was 13 in 2006/07) there were so many defeats against average-at-best opposition that could’ve been turned into draws with more spirit and/or use of brainpower. The first two to spring to mind are the games against Everton and Villa. In the first one we should’ve just settled for 2-2 or not committed so many men forward in the dying seconds while forgetting we only had a one and not four-man advantage, and in the second one we also conceded in the last second from a needless free kick (although I notice the kick was started by Reina who launched it into our box, can anyone remember why it was given?).

And really they could have lost if VAR was on the ball and making right decisions.

But credit to them I guess - outplayed us at least.

There are 5 teams without a win so far after 5 games...

If that extends much further it would be very difficult for some of those teams to turn it around. Massive chance to compound Newcastle to a season of struggle at the weekend. It's as much about dunking them under the waterline as it is lifting ourselves above it.

Guess that’s why they call these games 6 pointers.
But remember we went longer without winning and nearly got out of it.

Burnley went 8 games without or something last season, with a squad resembling ours in the Championship in terms of squad depth, and they managed to stay up comfortably. They got 39 points in the end, mind you that amount of points probably won't be enough to keep you up by 11 points this season!

Of course Palace lost 7 games and didn’t score a few seasons back but managed to stay up thanks to Big Sam.

But his record got broken last season so is he going to have the motivation to try another recuse act for someone else ?

    Exception to the rule.

If there's 3 teams with 0 wins after 7 or 8 or 9. At least one will not get out of it probably 2 and maybe 3.

The longer Burnley, Newcastle, Norwich and Leeds stay winless the better. So much more so if we can pick up another 3 points by beating Newcastle.
