Modern football for you. No one is allowed to just “boot it” now! Probably get fined for doing that .
Happy birthday WTE, I expect you may well be our club captain going forward and would happily endorse that if you are going to be a regular 1st eleven player, but I have my doubts that you will be.
Yet on Sunday, Troost made 7 'accurate long passes': https://twitter.com/Other14The/status/1432648015324532760?s=20 Doesn't seem like he's not being allowed?
Thought he did the diplomatic thing and tried to keep the Nigerian fans on side too: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/58467109
For the record, Nigeria came back from behind to win 2-1, which I'm sure they'll be delighted with given the players missing
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...ntract-for-a-business-studies-tutor-pm0b2dtjd I'll post text later as it's paywall. Comes across very well though, used to be a tearaway.
People love to slag him off for his passing but I think he's been excellent defensively. And apart from one pass into touch under pressure and in a non dangerous area, he didn't do anything wrong on the ball today either.
That was pure comedy though. I was thinking, wow, we played that around the back nicely for once, only for him to smash it into touch when there was a Watford player about 1 metre to the left.
I'm not sure to be honest, looked like we were getting progressively more panicked and boxed in so the only option on for him was Kiko who was already marked so he tried to play it to the side that was less dangerous and overhit it. I really don't care that he kicked it off the pitch when we were under pressure.
He was caught horribly out of position in the first half, then Cathcart did exactly the same thing and they scored. Troosty wasn't punished when he fell asleep though.
Thought he was good apart from that tbf, Cathcart did make some other mistakes mind. I don't think his passing was horrendous, there was one incident not too long before they scored where he passed it straight out under a bit of pressure, but I can't really remember too many other incidents of him giving the ball away
Let's not forget that it was against ***ing Norwich, also. If he finds/has found a way to step up and improve his game then that's marvellous, but I don't think we can draw that conclusion based on playing a Championship side shorn of their best player (Buendia) who we also managed to shut out last season when they had him. And he's displayed plenty of his calamity passing and decision making in the other games to date; Brighton being the most glaringly prominent example. Obviously, since he is the one apparent constant out of our 2.37 senior centre backs total, it's in all our interests for him to be reliable enough, so I hope he can become/is becoming that. We surely cannot declare it on the weight of today, though.
He's fine when we're not being pressed by quick/good players. That's when his passing becomes a liability.
Yes - fairly decent defender but very prone to errors on the ball which isn’t ideal in the way teams want to play these days. I mean we could try not to pass to him when under pressure ?
Other than the incident in the first half where he almost gave away a penalty (and tbf he was left to dry there by Kucka), I thought he was pretty darn good today. Don't remember too many sloppy passes too, beginning to have less concerns about him at Prem level
I think we just rotate the pointless, unforced errors around the team. He’ll pop up with one again soon enough when it’s his turn, don’t worry/get carried away.
Thought he was pretty poor today but that was enough to make him one of the better players. Ponderous with the ball as usual. I'm not sure how a guy that big can be so weak and his aerial challenges are bizarre. He seems to mistime every jump meaning he'll either make a colossal header or lose out to a player like Saint-Maximin.
Do people say that to you then if you have a bad day? He is another person - not a dog. WTE probably is a decent defender but will get caught out at higher level and when we flap around with the ball at the back which we insist on doing - that can hardly help.
Shock defeat for Nigeria at home to central Africa https://www.flashscore.com/match/Emp8mQOo/#match-summary/match-summary

Take a leaf out of Sierralta's book. If in doubt, kick it out. If not in doubt, kick it out. Pi55 poor yet again. We need some miracle cream to get Nkoulou and Sierralta back on the pitch or else the current donkeys will concede 15 in the next two games.
