Richarlison still a stroppy little tosspot.

He's killing his potential with that attitude.

And Benitez will too - Munoz played under him at Valencia.

Burnley weren’t even bad, they’re still a lot better than us

Burnley also have the sort of togetherness we have lacked since Villa. What we need is the side to gel quickly, or after November (the month of death) we will be in a world of trouble otherwise.

Even if those two are, which I'm not honestly so sure about, looking at the table around them and us, I really don't see too many others about who you would be able to finger as likely to be down at risk by the tail end of the season, and with each of them there is at least one major reason/USP as to why you would suggest they actually won't be.

Whether it's Burnley's died in the wool single-minded approach and historic pattern when it comes to picking up points, Southampton's Head Coach (not to mention set-piece specialist), or Newcastle's attack (centre-forward in particular) and the fact that despite Bruce's historic unpopularity, they haven't actually ever proven to be in any significant danger under him - alongside the fact that they have an owner prepared to splash the cash just enough to keep his marketing investment in the top division.

What, at this point, would fans of theirs say from the outside looking in about us/ours?

They were absolutely bossing the game in the first half, by far the better side, and took a deserved lead in the second. Fortunately my post jinxed them ahead of that 7 minute spell where the game turned on its head after Benitez made required changes.

Norwich will be down there even if I don't think they'll be anywhere near as pathetic as they were last time, Newcastle too, although I'm struggling to think of a 3rd team for us to finish above, Burnley are survival experts and Brentford I think will be just fine

Burnley have a manager who can s-house more than enough results to survive.

Brentford will crash and burn .

The only thing that may keep them airborn will be the sirroccos of hot air emanating from the lazy and half brained punditry that plague the Premier League in this country .

Looking likely that this seasons strugglers will be Norwich, Newcastle, Watford, Burnley & Brentford.

Brighton, Leeds, Palace, Villa and Southampton will be bottom half but not close enough to the drop zone to get too concerned. Arsenal will be fine, but I can see them struggling all season and finishing in the bottom half too.

This is our mini league and we’ve got to come above three of these sides.

Already we’ve lost to Brighton. We cannot afford to lose too many other games against bottom half sides.

We’ve got the untouchables in City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

There’s then a host of clubs you might get a surprise good result against on any given day, but ultimately you would expect to lose if all things are equal. Spurs, Everton, West Ham, Wolves & Leicester.

Ultimately if you go down you deserve to go down, but luck with fixture timing can play a big part in terms of getting unlikely points. We would’ve likely got at least a point against Spurs if we played them a fixture later, like palace did without Son.

Home and away makes a big difference too, especially to us. We could very easily get something against them at our place, but few bottom half teams will get anything at theirs. I think Norwich in a weird way have been lucky with the fixture list, they've got a lot of their hard games (yes, Arsenal away still comes under that category) out of the way, and now they have some much more winnable games with a reinforced squad

We should have taken a point in that game as it was, and would have had Bachmann not made a rookie error. Same for Wolves. Had Bachmann came for a routine cross, we may have taken a point in that game too.

I think we could easily have been 2 points better off and everyone would be seeing our plight in a very different light. 1 win, 2 draws and a loss. That would have been a decent return from the opening 4 games, with two easy (on paper) fixtures to come.

Our final run-in looks tricky, with only Leeds looking like a team with nothing to play for and no teams that look likely to be doomed by then. If we’re going to survive it won’t be through a Leicester-like final sprint, we need to have at least 30 points by April.

Yes. Pochettino did it for quite a while, too. Why don't others do it? Probably because they have nothing to say, and it's a good way of hiding. Of course, not for a moment would I be thinking of anybody close to home.

Part me thinks Brentford will do a bit of a Sheff Utd. If they stay up this season, full credit to them of course. But it all depends on how they situate their second season. That "syndrome" can hit teams pretty hard.

Brentford haven’t strengthened that much, and they had regular runs of games last season when they couldn’t win a game against pretty poor opposition, remember they did however start the season really well (like they always do) and everyone thought they had the league sewn up at one stage. I think they’ll fizzle out/be worked out before long.

The Premier League is sooooo boring. Casting envious glances at the Championship teams playing midweek games whilst we have three league games in seven weeks due to these pointless international breaks.

While it's very possible that their promotion bounce will be temporary, they look like they've taken to the Prem well, have a young, improving squad with Toney who should be a reliable 10 goal a season striker. Hard to make a reliable comparison because our two halves of last season were so different, but I'd say the main difference between the two of us last season was our greater strength in depth, and they've added in that regard

Yes, this is what I expect to happen. They have only brought in a few players and they weren't amazing last season. Not too sure why everyone is expecting them to do so well. I think the first 10 games is essential for their season as they will have the new to Premier League buzz a few losses and the reality of the Premier League may hit home.

They tended to struggle against tight and well-organised but limited opponents, and Brighton are the Premier League version of them, so no surprise they lost. I think they’ll be OK though as Canos and Toney can do well at this level and they look solid (only two goals conceded so far).

They actually started quite poorly, before going on a 20 something game unbeaten run, I barely remember them being top, let alone being crowned champions elect tbf
