Agree with this. Technically a good player though, just a bit of a shirker

I thought today was a mixed bag. We started off really well. Dennis was causing all sorts of problems. That lasted for around 15 minutes, but the game deteriorated on us the more it went on. We became subdued and lost our way as an attacking force. I thought Sarr did well also, but was very disappointed with King. He did virtually nothing.

Sure, we were physically competitive but I left the ground feeling disappointed. We should be a bigger threat going forward and the first 15 minutes showed how good we can be.

Obviously the goal Bachmann conceded was horrendous but it's one that will happen with him as he still prefers to stay on his line. He needs to be a lot braver to deal with crosses. When he leaves it to the CB's every time he's taking the easy option, and I don't like that. He did make some really good reaction saves today, but this weakness in his game is a really big one and I see no sign of him improving in this area.

I think the international break has come at the right time for us. We need to work on transition, between midfield and attack. We need to stop this over passing across the back line too. There is very little advantage in doing this when you're losing. It just slows the game down and the opposition cannot be got at on the counter attack.

Debut for Sissoko was a bit of a surprise for me. I didn't think they'd throw him straight in, but I must admit to being a little disappointed with his performance. He didn't do much wrong, but he never caught the eye. Having said that, it must have been a surreal game for him to play in and I'm sure he'll be a big asset for us in future games. Etebo was the pick of the midfield with another excellent game.

Sierralta is so, so good. But the rest of the defence is a bit clumsy. It will make mistakes and has done already this season, with 4 of the 5 goals conceded being directly from really poor errors. But as a unit, I can't ignore we don't give away too many chances to opponents, which has to be considered a big positive. Hopefully there will be some transfer activity in the next two days, especially as Cathcart limped off injured today, leaving us with only 3 central defenders.

Losing 1-0 to Spurs away in the grand scheme of things is respectable, but I don't think they are all that good (or weren't today) and it was a missed opportunity to pick up an unlikely point.

I personally just needed to see a change. I was done with our front line 2 to 3 seasons ago.

In terms of Dennis, I guess we wait and see. He got good reports, a goal and an assist v Villa. I saw him live in the 2nd half v Palace and he was our best player, changed the game. Sounds like he caused Spurs a few issues early on today. Pretty good start all in all.

On the train home, not a bad day out. First 15 minutes we were utterly brilliant, particularly Dennis.

Etebo is very reminiscent of Doucoure, Kucka is amazing but not sure he has 90 minutes in his legs.

Cathy was decent at right back. Masina was below par but his free kicks were abysmal - must be dropped for Rose.

People moaning about Bachmann, but he made a couple of excellent saves and was solid otherwise. Troost was so much better with the flawless Sierralta next to him.

My only gripe was that we didn't go forward as much as we could have, but I suspect that was partly to avoid being done on the break.

Nice ground, horrible area, Spurs fans very quiet but not acting like ****s.

Nah, if that’s on Sarr and isn’t given, we’d be fuming.

Watching their goal again, although it still doesn't cover Bachmann is glory I don't think it's quite as bad as it first looked, mainly because Son's delivery is absolutely dead on the money where you would expect an attacking player to make contact with the header and Dier did throw himself at it, likely off putting Bachmann until it's too late. It's not a howler but it still doesn't look good for Bachmann especially as it was a game winning goal.

What surprised me was how poor his distribution was though, that was inexplicable given generally how solid it's been overall. Made a few saves (The half volley especially) that were genuinely very good and impressed me when he came for a corner (cross?) and through about 7 or 8 men and punched it clear which was a nice sign of development from him. Where was that v Derby for example?

WTE looks almost a different player with Sierralta and highlights the need to find another defender like Sierralta if he gets injured. Against Palace he made a goal saving header and today a goal saving touch to stop Kane having a tap in.

I think it was a six a side thing for under 23’s about 10 years ago in Thailand and that was probably rigged because of our owners.

I don't think this should be underestimated, it sets the tone for the whole game. He let a couple of really clear-cut yellows go for them and then booked Etebo for a slip. You could tell from our players' reactions to that that they felt hard done by. We were the better team up until that point I thought. Then all of a sudden Etebo has to be really careful whereas Reguilon was free to bring Sarr down again a few minutes later and then stand over the top of him giving him **** with no punishment.

I thought we played well, could've got something out of the game the way it went, but had it been refereed equally I'm confident that we actually would've. It's not one of those defeats where you think we've got problems.

Yes, Mariner is normally ok, but today he was a real homer. It's such a shame, we are still going to be shafted by all but Mike Dean this season. I was hoping this type of thing was going to be a thing of the past, but today was a shocking example that big club/home club bias is still alive and well.

Agreed on all counts there. I don't think it was a howler, I can see why Bachmann waited as long as he did to make a move, although I don't think Dier got that close to it in the end. I am a bit concerned about his kicking, I remember when Foster came back, his kicking seemed as straight as an arrow, which was a breath of fresh air after Gomes, only to decline after that, and Bachmann's first few games gave a similar vibe, only to tail off

I believe Levy blew his dog whistle and got him to heal before then fining him 2 weeks wages and sending him back to his kennel with no dinner and his tail between his legs. The bald-headed meglomaniac.

No league goals for about 200 minutes. Time to bring back the proven prem league scorers, Deeney & Gray and drop these pretenders to their throne.

The first minute Bachman howler clearance that so nearly had us 1-0 down in less than 60 seconds, had me fearing for a thrashing. One of the mascots predicted a 20 - 4 result. Ridiculous childish view, no way we would score four goals away from home.

So maybe a result that may mean our defeats will not damage the goal difference compared to the other teams fighting to avoid the drop. Spurs though hopefully will perform a lot better against the teams we will be comparing our results against. I reckon their fans are probably more perplexed than ours.

Focus will be on Bachman, (personally I think Foster is still quite a few notches above him), but his second half save from the deflected free kick was enough to cancel out his part in the goal. His distribution today was poor. Not sure it will be sensible to drop him, he is after all in the squad beyond this season, and needs more game experience to improve.

The team demonstrated how much better the defence is with Sieralta in it. Troost-Ekong looks a better player alongside him. I though Cathcart looked ok, and his loss is disappointing. Maybe with two weeks Kiko will be fit enough to keep Ngakia out of the first 11. He by the way did ok going forward. Whipped in a good cross.

Massina must be operating on borrowed time. Rose will be pushing hard for inclusion. Kuka influence was snuffed out by Spurs but he did well again. Sissoko was really so so. But again two weeks match break will help integrate him into the team. King, I am sure will get better, but if Deeney had played like that people would be screaming for his replacement.

The three substitutes did ok, but they were not tactical changes to change the outcome of the game.

All in all that team looks like our best option. But there are a few who will be looking over their shoulder.

Headmaster Levy caned Kane. Still, he has shown the way to deal with the big egos there. If he had let Kane do what he wanted his authority in that club would've been severley dented.

    Re: Bachmann.
    See my past comments.
He will not come off his line. He was like that with Kilmarnock. He will not change.
His first movement is to take a step back
He does make some good saves or has done, but l feel sure Premier league coaches know this glaring weakness in his game.
Foster is slow with the ball at his feet. Is he still injured?
Will Bachmann be our No1 after the International break?

Bachmann will play against Wolves. Can only be one or two more mess ups away from Foster though.
