Little Timmy Sherwood. Never forgiven him for crippling Gary Penrice pre-/early season while he was at Norwich. Utter sh1tebag.
That win on the first day was so important 12th after the first 3 games is not bad really, need to get through the next 45 without embarrassing ourselves and then re group after the break
I would imagine Rose isn't fit enough as yet, perhaps he'll come on,although you'd imagine it would be a forward first given Bachmann's error?
Play for Pal@rse and come away with brain damage. An exciting period for W- Ill Hughes sideways movingg career.
Thanks Troy’s agent . Would Deeney make much of a difference given our formation and way of playing ?
I am not surprised. He will not come off his line. His first action is a step back. 1-0 as l write, this is better a score than many expected.
Not been awful but still not great. Bachmann has to be doing better with Son's goal, just too slow to react. Foster saves that
Be frustrating to lose to a sloppy goal but seems like we will unfortunately. That is the Premier league for you. Errors get punished .
Our new strike force seem like a breath of fresh air compared with what we’ve had to watch the last 3/4 seasons. It’s great to be supportive of a player who has played for us for over a decade and done very well for large parts of it, but it was definitely time for a change.
Disappointing as wfc says to lose to a very soft goal. However Mr Moneybags missed a sitter and Spurs appear now to be George Graham's Arsenal. At least the goals against doesn't take a hammering.
Lots to build on. Spurs are very strong at home (3rd best last season). Looking forward to seeing what we can do with 2 weeks to work on things with the newbies.
What is disappointing is that we did not show the same level of organization and thrust initially anyway against Brighton and handed them three points. The Spuds barely created anything all of their chances down to Bachmann's distribution. Bachmann redeemed himself with two excellent stops however. Etebo was superb in midfield. Our strike force are dangerous but they need service and we were in a defensive mode understandably for much of the match. Goal difference will be crucial at the seasons end. If we show the same level of organization and commitment we will get more points without a doubt. The new players ought to make an impact with Tufan and Louza getting up to speed. Rose fitter and Pedro hopefully available as well. The referee today was appalling. He might as well have worn a white shirt. And the Spuds players. Embarrassing. Dive and dive again. Kane the worst of the lot. A cheat. Skipp holding his head at the corner lying down looking up for a sly wink a la Drogba when the contact was in the back. Xisco and his coaching staff did well enough for me especially at the start. We did become a little too passive but we with more service into the strikers should be okay. Again disappointing the organization was not there or commitment against Brighton which was eminently winnable. Fingers crossed Spuds do the same thing they do every season. Collapse in a heap. Not fined or punished enough either for their ESL escapade either.
Decent performance, good response to the awful Brighton game played better today than we did last week. We huffed and puffed but it just didn't land for us. It was a 0-0 in truth, Championship quality GK made a Championship level mistake. They defended well. No point dissecting the performance too much, liked the line-up. Thought Ngakia was bright and still think Masina is utter, utter garbage. I also think we're missing a number 10 or a progressive CM, with a bit of quality, who wants the ball in tight spaces. Sarr was virtually trying to win the game on his own today, poor lad, can see him getting bored and frustrated in the near future. This is the reality of the Premier League, for clubs of our size, it's often boring. Shyte game, made worse by a Sunday 2pm non-televised kick-off (wtf is that about?) and now a horrible international break.
Tbf I think Foster's reactions have dulled in the last few years, that's probably not the kind of shot Foster would have stopped I reckon
Agree you need to move forward but with this front line I don’t think we will. Dennis is not a striker to rely on. If I read his stats correctly he has scored 26 career goals and they were in Ukraine and Belgium. He’s more suited to a winger role. So what does that leave us up front. This is going to bite us.
Not a terrible performance against a painfully average Spurs side, just lacking anything real going forward and Bachmann has lost us the game with a truly laughable bit of goalkeeping. Solid at the back but both Sissoko and Kucka looked unfit and tired, Celeverley came on and offered nothing but his run around a lot, headless chicken act as usual, and King and Dennis couldn't really get anything going after a bright start. Ref was an absolute c*nt as usual. Reguillon and Skipp should have been booked first half but he completely ignored it, only to book Etebo straight away for a lesser foul and a slip from pretty much our first foul of the game. Alli should have gone after 80 mins for a second yellow. Standard big team bias bullsh*t. Season won't be defined by results against the "big teams" away, but we would have been worth a point if it wasn't for Bachmann.
Better scoreline than I anticipated, disappointing to lose obviously but we weren't too bad and play similar away from home will bring a few points back!
We still have no effective way of getting the ball from out defenders to our forwards. They’re too starved of meaningful service. Xisco needs to use this international break wisely.
We've got some really great players. The future is bright this season. Unfortunately the keeper is not one of them. Bring back Foster.
It was at 2pm because of Tottenham's game in Europe midweek, but the blackout remaining for games like that doesn't make sense to me
Deeney has been a penalty merchant for years. If you’re going to point out scoring records as a reason to keep Deeney you’re talking absolute s***. He’s past his best, move on. Looks like the club are.
A lot better than last week. We did as well as could be hoped for, the tactics were right, by the timing and nature of the Spurs goal was unfortunate. Progress and confidently more points are coming.
No chance spurs stay in the top 4. No ******* chance. Good side at home though and was always a tough game. Ref let's 2 spuds yellow cards go early on, then books one of ours about the first time we make a foul. The spurs tactic of fouling Sarr every time was not pulled up (without wanting to sound like Palace/Zaha). Bachmann is glued to his line most times and will concede more goals like that. Promising performance, not without areas to improve upon.
Well, it is certainly better to have a good difference than a bad, but even the best goal diff in the league is only worth the equivalent of one extra point at the end of the season.
