Tentatively mentioned as holding an interest in Mathias Normann (amongst all the usual suspects). Norwegian holding midfielder who plays for Rostov in Russia. Move to Norwich has stalled - €2.5m loan fee and €14.5m obligation if survival is achieved.
This is a quote from Aftenposten. The same was true of Watford, who instead signed midfielder Ozan Tufan from Fenerbahce at a slightly lower price than Normann is available for. Its saying we thought he was to expensive and went for Tufan instead.
Ah fair, I didn’t bother translating. My mistake. I’m still holding out hope we go for Yangel Herrera if we get decent money for Hughes personally.
I imagine we’ll be able to get the Yokuslu deal done if Hughes and Chalobah leave in time. Otherwise I think the latter will be part of the group, giving us 7 CMs after Hughes and Quina have left.
Wasn't there a report saying he was available for £2.5m? If there's any truth to that, surely we can get it done
I think I’ve seen a subsequent report claim they wanted double that. Still not loads but I get the impression we’re out of money to spend up front and are trying to delay any payments. It also would be a risk adding to a bloated midfield area before we’ve managed to offload any of the players we assume will go at some point.
On loan with no obligation to buy if they go down Guess they were desperate to let go so waved the latter bit.
Seems a good signing, they have a lot of very good footballers, but needed someone with a bit of bite. Not that they've had a good start, but they've at least got 3 of their hardest fixtures all season out of the way, maybe they'll make a much better fist of survival this time
They're gash. How many times do I have to say it? They could sign Messi but it wouldn't make any difference when you force Grant Hanley and Ben Gibson to play a high line.
Who? Listen lads, we’re fishing in different waters now. It’s 50+ caps for France just to get through the door.
