If I have missed any reference to this elsewhere here, apologies, but apparently Vicarage Road has a new pie supplier.

    https://www.willyspies.com/

    Which is nice.

I heard this supplier actually produces under-cover surveillance kit. Careful if you visit the mens toilets.

Someone I know who is considered a 'food influencer' actually messaged me about this saying how good they are! Along with a nicer range of beers, seems like the Club are catching on that their offering was *****.

I believe AL had speculated about a month ago that there might or might not be a change in club catering and that the club was considering assessing an offer from one or more target suppliers.

  20. I've heard from another source that they're rather good too. But not cheap.

What's a 'food influencer' b.t.w.? Is it someone who helps a haggis form its views on Scottish independence?

I saw the Stones in '91 at Maine Rd. The gig and the tour were sponsored by Budweiser and the place was plastered with 'King of Beers' ads and stalls selling all sorts of that/crap/merchandise. Unfortunately this was in the dark days of the Tories 'fight' against football hooliganism so all alcohol sales were banned in football stadia. One of the most surreal days of my life: in a concert venue totally bedecked with beer ads, watching a band who were the ultimate symbol of rock 'n' roll debauchery/excess drinking 'Panda Pops'. I farking hate Budweiser no least because it's tasteless piss.

It's a foodie or a food critic. Some person who either events a dish and takes it to mainstream market, or a person who raves how disgusting said product is.

    Q. What’s the difference between a Budweiser and making love in a canoe.

    A. Nothing. They’re both £ucking close to water!

(American joke that ain’t no joke).

Did anyone try one of these? Saw they had a brisket and Tring ale pie and I'm definitely interested.

Personally rather enjoy a Pieminister pie, was hoping that the club might go for these, but might give this brand a go.

    That sounds good!

Things could be finally looking up after the gloom of much of the last 24 months on and off the pitch - fans back en masse at the Vic, a competitive team and likeable and clearly passionate manager, and actually decent food at the ground...

They had 4 Tring Brewery beers. All together on the real ale counter, Graham Taylor Stand.

Also had the chicken, ham hock and leek pie, was delicious.

Beer selection in the Rookery Stand V Bar and upper concourse was Budweiser and Camden Pale Ale. Surprising nothing else available, but didn't go downstairs to investigate other options. Were there any?

I spoke to one of the guys behind the counter who appeared to be management/a supervisor, for any fellow coeliacs out there you'll be pleased to hear they're working on a gluten free pie. There's currently absolutely nothing I can eat being served (in the Rookery at least, I didn't go wandering), which is disappointing but he said they should have something sorted in the next month.

Didn’t have a pie but did manage to get the last sausage roll, which was very nice. Also, one of the servers in the upstairs Rookery was very easy on the eye - thoughtful of the powers that be to accommodate the female fans. The only negative was that there was no water left by half time but, since it was the aforementioned server who broke the news to me, I found myself in a forgiving mood.
