I think that Muff can still get 86 (on 74 with 4 to play), so if muff beat Brentford on Saturday and millwall tomorrow we would need 2 points
Don’t we need more than that? if they win all their games that will close up the goal difference. If they win one of them by more than 1 goal they’d have a better goal difference.
Markoa$ that’s what I said too lol Minimum we can get is 85. If Brentford lose the early match, they can’t get to that. Swansea could equal it. So if Brentford lose, we’d need 1 point on Saturday to be mathematically sure Brentford and Swansea can’t catch us. And maybe two, to see off Bmouth. All that worry for so long about our two final tough looking fixtures, and odds are now they will be dead rubbers! (Unless we can still win the title)
Get in! Brilliant game! Basically forgotten the odious performance against the scum on Saturday. Totally deserved the win, and every player can come out of that with credit. I was ready to **** the bed after Luton, but well done to Xisco and the squad for turning this round. And Brentford and Swansea f*cked it as well! Fantastic! Promotion surely beckons now....?
No you aren't, because Muff could potentially still overtake us if they win all their remaining games (including Millwall tomorrow). If Muff beat Millwall then the best result for us at the weekend would actually be a Muff vs Brentford draw, as then we would only need 1 point from our last 3 games to guarantee promotion.
Do we not still need 2 points to be sure that Bournemouth can't catch us? Assuming they win tomorrow of course. They have 12 left to play for. IF we were to only gain one more point and they won all 4, they'd likely go above us on GD. Not saying I believe this will happen! But am I right? Unbelievable set of results tonight, get in lads!
Bournemouth draw tomorrow and on Saturday then they can get to 82 but I think they will win both so be on 80 points before we face Millwall so a win will be needed.
If Muff don't win at Millwall tomorrow then we are up if Brentford lose to them on Saturday - without kicking a ball!!
Except we aren’t because Swansea can catch us on goal difference. Highly highly unlikely but worth noting that when we play them, each goal counts double in effect as it’s a two goal swing. We’d need a point against Millwall to stop them catching us.
You are correct, I’ve taken my eye off the muff, just concentrating on Brentford and Swansea, however if we don’t go up from where we are we would have had our worse run of the season in the last three matches, after tonight consider us up!
Despite all the ******** that all the ******* on here talk about him, he has made such a difference to us this season
Like most I was pretty dismayed at the appointment of Xisco, although I said he at least deserved a chance before we called for his sacking. Tonight he did a tactical job on Farke. The best way to stop Norwich is to stop their attacking players get the ball and the relentless press on their defence and midfield achieved that. Cleverley was absolutely immense tonight. Not the spectacular vote, but IMO it was performance of the season from Tom tonight.
absolutely, not prepared to call it yet but there is a reason the bookies have us at 1:10 , we would really need to **** up now not to be promoted.
Swansea’s goal difference is 14 worse than ours. If we lost our next two and they won theirs, the minimum that would be then be is 10. We then play them last game. A 5-0 win for them would bring the difference down to 0. Highly highly highly unlikely, but just saying we need one more point to mathematically finish Swansea off. And Onion, in my opinion Masina was responsible for the one single moment that made me convinced we were going up. The winner at Cardiff...
They'll be licking their wounds tonight , whilst simultaneously sharpening their knives for August when we lose our first game.
Can't believe some of you have still got your calculators out! We're up and we're going to win the league. COYH!!
Sierralta getting the nod after being in the wilderness was a pretty decent piece of luck too. Sent from my Nokia 7 plus using Tapatalk
We were winning 1-0 tonight away to the already promoted nearly-Champions and some were still having a pop, so the prospect of a silent period of sharpening until August is a bit optimistic.
Agreed but he's still an awful defender as he showed tonight. Literally any left back would have made us better because the team was crying out for one.
That is f****** gorgeous. Never saw it coming, happy to be proved a filthy bed wetter. The ‘orns are going up!
I could be wrong, but it weeks since I saw one of our players "go down easily" - is XM coaching a "stay on your feet" mentality?
