Norwich have a lovely lawn of the pitch, L**on have a barren wasteland.

That was tremendous ! Great team performance and although I was sh*tting it once we scored we limited them to only a few chances and should have had had 4 or 5 .

Cleverly made the difference for me . He was superb and showed what we’d been missing m, with his all action displays , Also thought Pedro was much improved from recent displays but the whole team were excellent .

So close now and lets see if we can push Norwich for the title !

You only have to go back to our first match after we clinched promotion last time to realise that we had the perfect time to play Norwich tonight.

I’m taking nothing away from our performance. Nothing at all. It was superb.

But once they clinched promotion, I was confident we’d be facing a slightly different opponent tonight. If we’d had them two weeks ago, it might have been different. But tonight we wanted it MORE. Even if only subconsciously, Norwich were 5-10% off their usual high standards tonight, as they were on Saturday evening.

We're still basking in our cup final result. Losing to the Scum.

It can be looked at in different ways. A different argument is he set a springboard. We were in a playoff position before Xisco took over. Without those points on the board we don't get the points we have now. Then we get the Deeney injury which I believe was the biggest bit of luck we had.

Because Norwich play football and go out to win, whereas Luton, combined with their crap pitch just wanted to stop us playing. Fair play to them though, everything fair in love and war, and a that....

Massive win. It’s tantalisingly close now, let’s go and do the business Saturday.

I think that is one of the best games I have seen for a while, Norwich are clearly a good side and they did t play badly we just wanted it more.

Dont think anybody let us down today (well maybe Gray and the sitter he missed , but I will leave him alone at least he was trying).

Our defence is excellent if ever so slightly flakey , Norwich were wiggling around all over the place and getting in the box, but we did a great job keeping the ball out of the back of the net.

The ref was a bit strange (no complaints) but was letting a lot of big tackles go , you could see the players from both sides expecting him to blow and almost stopping play in anticipation.

I was gutted by the Scum game, but perhaps if we had beaten them we wouldn’t have had the reaction we did.

So many players stood out today but for me big Ken was giving it some , he must have run miles and his celebration at the end when he won the tackle shows how much he wanted to win.

This is a Craig Cathcart and Tom Cleverley appreciation post. I love both of them.

Cathcart was immense this evening, and I don't think he gets enough credit for how good he has been for us over the years. I know he's not a PL (or even champ) starter anymore, but he was brilliant for us even in the PL on the whole. By all accounts seems a lovely bloke too.

Cleverly has really stepped up this season. Those who said he was rubbish should be apologising. Think it's no coincidence our performance level dropped when he was out the team.

Huge win, and a great night for football!

There have been some good performances this season, but tonight’s performances beats all others hands down, every player did their bit, no one less than 8 out of 10! Just shows what difference a good left back does!

  17. Thought the ref was poor. The foul in the first half looked like a pen, and the 2 or 3 dives by Norwich players were blatant and should have been booked.

We can’t discount Bournemouth (mathematically). Possible 12 points and even if they win by one goal only we’ll be equal (assuming we don’t get another point).

Where the hell did that come from. Absolutely brilliant performance. Hero’s the lot of them. I’m so glad they proved me wrong but why oh why could we not do it against the scum. I need a drink.

That was a thoroughly enjoyable match.

Hopefully even those with sodden sheets will finally stop over reacting because:

    1. We can beat any side in the division when the playing surface is good
    2. Brentford and Swansea are ****

Even the most optimistic among us, myself included, would never have guessed we’d go from being such a shambles at the back last season to conceding only 28 goals in 43 matches, even allowing for the lower standard.

We’ve kept 21 clean sheets, including two against the champions elect.

And all this with a keeper who’d previously never played for us, our one proper left-back (who was so bad at the end of last season that he was subbed at half time) missing for the first few months of the season, and because of injuries being forced to bring in our 5th choice centre back, some unknown reject from Udinese.

I was probably Ivic’s biggest critic here towards the end, but he deserves much credit for making us better at the back, and Xisco was able to build on that.

Makes me more confident by the day that we might be able to keep it to under 6 when we go to the Etihad next season.

Great win, it's frustrating that we lost to scum on Saturday as we would be (a) promoted tonight and (b) just 2 points short of Norwich.

Oh well, at least we can gain promotion on Saturday.

That means if Brentford don't win the early KO on Saturday we would be as good as promoted before we kick off at 3.
