What a dreadful game of football. I’m not going to give them any credit. We were awful but incredibly neither Brentford or Swansea took advantage. I know some people on here like the bloke from France are trolling and fair play to him for some hilariously funny posts. D1ck head.
Still happier to be in our position than Brentford’s or Swansea’s

I mean... If we get promoted I’m not sure how much shame there is? If you think you will be living with shame for a long time after one game of football (yes against our rivals) after a great run then I would suggest football is not the sport for you because it often throws up results like this. This game is not anomaly, it is why people watch football. Because Watford can beat Liverpool 3-0.

“yet again”... 2nd place. I’m not a happy clapper but it is more likely not get promoted than to do so after relegation, but at the moment we are in the driving seat to do so.

Maybe. I don't understand how we went from having 2 capable left-backs to 0. Does anyone even know what's happened to Ngakia?

The shame is this was our chance to hand out a frightful beating due to the vast difference in resources and we bottled it completely and utterly.

Any Watford fan than encounters a luton fan will have this thrown in their face for years. They beat us by every measure at it is, and now this too.

And half our fan base dont care. Lucky them I guess

I wouldn’t say I don’t care. But I’m not going to let it eat me up inside when it could be inconsequential in my life. I admit though I only rarely brush past Luton fans in my life (a blessed life!) so I know I’m safe from that.

Not sure what happened to Ngakia. Surely a knock too? I was a bit worried hearing Lazaar’s name (rightly so it proved), but as a team we still should have had enough to overcome one weak spot.

What a stupid penalty to give away. The Luton player was going nowhere.
Crazy pass back and a dumb decision by Bachmann.
What was the issue with the pitch that many on here are moaning about? Ok, l haven't seen a close up picture of the pitch, but did it really make any difference.
Lazaar is out of his depth at this level.
We have been poor since the International break, the Swansea and Brentford results have handed us a reprieve, can we take advantage of it?

Not getting by up front with Pedro and Success at the moment. An upturn in form from Pedro will be welcome. Zero goals between them since end of February. And Xisco insists on bringing Success on to try and score us goals which is a strange one. Gray scored a few when he got some game time the last month yet Success is getting the nod more often than not. Gray got more game time when he wasn't scoring and less when he does lol.

You want to put some €'s on it?
    1. I think we will blow it . You think not?
How much do you want to place on this?
    2. Bournemouth will gain the second spot.

I had the chance to lay long odds on Bournemouth before the played Swansea at home. I turned it down. That is gambling for you.

    Fine. Let them do so.

At the end of the day, we all know who the bigger club is.

Don't get me wrong, the performance today was gutless and serious questions should be asked of the players.

Am I going to let today's loss get to me though? Let it ruin my weekend? **** no. Life is too short to place such emotional investment in a sport that lost its soul decades ago. Spurs just announced an official paint supplier FFS.

I have £50 on Brentford at 11/2. I don’t want to place anything on Bournemouth.

    Hope that answers your questions.

We ain't going up. Mark my words we are going to absolutely bottle it and Brentford will get automatics.

Play offs? Lol we will choke against Bournemouth and they will humiliate us.

And even if we go up some how, lol you reckon these lot are good enough to stay up in the Premier League?

    Ho ho ho

That Nathan Jones, you have to hand it to him. Thinks he's too good for Luton and leaves in acrimony for a much larger club languishing in the Championship, Stoke City. It's a disaster and he's soon back at Luton with his tail between his legs. Mind you, he's done a sterling job since, keeping them in the division with virtually no resources. Anyone half decent will be sold to balance the books so they'll always be in a state of perpetual struggle, yo-yo-ing between Tiers 2 and 4. Still there's always the promise of a new community stadium, however, post-pandemic financial reality might be forced to scale this dream back. Just like the Kohlerdome and many other past projects which have promised much and delivered nothing. Never mind. As long as they're happy beating us now and again, that's all that matters. We'll just continue with a rebuild and most likely our club will move onwards and upwards. Remember, we've been told that we are not a 'proper' football club. and we are deluding ourselves as supporters. So it must be true.

If I was a Watford player who had never been to Luton before, but was lead to believe that they’re our ‘big’ rivals, I think I would be in shock when I arrived at the kennel. We’ve got players who have been at big clubs with a rival team that are worthy of them. If Luton are our rivals, then what does that say about Watford? No wonder the team looked shell shocked. The reality of our past must have hit the players hard. If we’re going to move on, we have to relegate this rivalry to the 80s. The fact is that our club has moved on, and so have many of our fans. This rivalry means more to Luton fans than Watford fans. That’s the truth and that’s the message that the players must get. If the horror of Kenilworth Road, and our historical association with it, is not quickly washed out of their minds they’ll be in awe of Carrow Road and the league champions, forgetting that it was only just over a year ago that we comfortably beat the champions of the Premier League. We’re better than Luton these days. Let’s hope that today doesn’t drag us back to thinking otherwise.

Disappointing and poor at L*ton. MUST win the home game against Millwall and away v Brentford and avoid losing v Swansea or it's the playoffs for us I reckon.

So they comprehensively beat us on the pitch, beat us in the head to head record, are above us in the all time league table, have more major trophies than us, but we're somehow better than them?

    Ok mate.

Sorry but I think you are overreacting to a defeat and trying to find someone to blame. As far as I could see Deeney
    • Wasn't responsible for Massina taken out of the starting line up 20 mins before the start
    • Didn't contribute in Lazaar playing a lame back pass to Bachmann
    • Didn't bring down the Luton stiker for the penalty
    • Didn't have any effect on Bachmann failing to stop the penalty
    • Didn't make Kiko foul the Luton player when he was already on a yellow card
    • Didn't tell Gray to stand in an offside position for the disallowed goal
    • Wasn't mentioned by the manager or players as the reason we lost or played badly
For all the reasons above I don't feel Deeney can be held responsible for the loss or poor performances when he was not involved.

Now I understand you are upset like the rest of us but you are trying to fit circumstances to your theory. Until there is evidence that Deeney had a hand in our last few performances I don't think you can blame him. Anything you say about Deeney is heresay or the modern term seems to be "fake news". If you are the owner, manager, another player or member of staff at the club then I apologise as you have direct knowledge of what is going on and I will accept that what you say is true. However if you are the owner, manager, player or staff member what are you doing on this site as you should now be concentrating on the next match at Norwich. If you are not then you cannot be certain what effect Deeney has on the team.

By way of further explanation, this is exactly how Trump works. He comes up with a theory and then tries to fit circumstances around it. He then says it many times over until he and other people start believing it to be true. Trump will go to his grave saying that the last presidential election was stolen from him and millions of his supporters will believe that is true. Now I am not comparing you with Trump but just because you have a theory regarding Deeney doesn't make it true until the evidence supports it and by evidence I mean someone at the club actually saying Deeney was responsible. Until they do, I think your mistrust of Deeney and his affect on the teams performance when he is not playing is purely a theory on your part and without foundation. Most people on here seem to agree with your theory regarding Deeney but it still doesn't make it true.

Surely he was joking with that deeney stuff? If he seriously thinks deeney was in any way to blame for that then I genuinely think he should see a psychiatrist.

The positive and negative from yesterday is that none of the squad will give a fark about the result as its a totally meaningless fixture for them.

I can only hope that the club, coach and players received justified abuse on Twitter and other platforms last night, to ensure they realise just how much they let down the fans.

The only hope is that there's a Coventry style moment of self awareness which steels the players for the final 4 games, to enable us to limp home, because perfomances like the last 3 are not going to be enough.

The criticism levelled at him is unjust. Would we have wanted a half fit player on the pitch. Had he been caught out because of it we would have crucified him. It is always best to have a fully fit player on the pitch than a half fit one. Unfortunately the replacement was Lazaar which reflects once again the recruitment team's failure to have two decent players for every position.

Masina is needed back as soon as possible. Players pull out with injuries or illness all the time before games. It was rather unfortunate that he may have picked up an injury in warm up or just suddenly felt ill.
