To be honest, one of the other CBs was as much at fault I thought. I think he just wasn't up to speed yet, he got subbed on as soon as it went 1-1 and then we conceaded pretty much straight away.
Having seen the goal you are right - slide rule pass as they call it played through to the striker catching everyone out.
In the Northern Ireland squad for the upcoming internationals. I would expect him to play 2 sets of 90 against Italy and Bulgaria and then who knows if he will play in the friendly.
The games will do him good I suspect in terms of match fitness. Do you think there will be any worry for you over the fact he hasn't played?
Interesting, could have done without that as WTE is going to Africa and Wilmot will be in Slovenia, though I don't know if any of them are on the red list
He's not exactly been completely out of the loop, last played against Bournemouth and played not long before that at Preston. From a Watford perspective, I'd like him to get a few minutes in the legs in your first game before having a rest for the last two, wouldn't want him playing 2 days before Sheffield Wednesday!
Fair point - I forgot he played recently. So many games! Would do he some good as you say to get games we need all our defenders fit if WTE is travelling to Africa and back. Yes - did notice there seems to be a drop at centre half from Evans and Cathcart to League One players. Leicester fans would like Evans to have a rest I think as he has had injuries.
Great game Craig! Think he's been unlucky not to play more at CB, but have we found our RB for next season!
If anything, I reckon CC's appearance off the bench helped us today, certainly better in the air than Femenia!
CC has now won promotion to the top division of English football with Watford TWICE. Could be wrong but I think CC, Fozzie & Troy are the only players in our history to do that. I know Foster was on loan first time round, but that still counts in my book. COYH!
Think Jon Marks said on commentary that that was his 199th appearance for the club. What a great free transfer signing he's been.
I'm not sure how old Craig is, but I hope he is still with us next season as he still has it in him to be a great backup squad player anywhere across the back four.
Wonderful servant to the club. Model professional. Never complains. First class attitude, bags of experience and can still do a job in the PL.
Not sure what his first name is, but Cathcart has really stepped up when we needed him in the last 2 games. Will be fondly remembered when he leaves
I think that Craig is worth keeping as a back up and bench man, as I think he is still good enough do a job in the PL.
I highly doubt he'll be going anywhere as he's settled here and clearly has a connection with the club. Wouldn't be devastated if he stays as 4th choice, even did a good job deputising at right-back against Prem level opposition in Buendia, although you strongly suspect his days as a regular are over
Read online that he supposedly took part in at least part of an NI training session yesterday so hopefully his injury wasn't serious.
maybe a tactical injury and substitution on Sunday then. More a Greek tennis players toilet break than actual damage to life and limb
Well that's good to hear, I heard Evans ultimately didn't join up with you, so Cathcart's injury must be pretty tame
