Shocking first touch though. I believe he wanted to take it on into the box. But good pass admittedly.
Cannot see how AG can kick on TBF given that it is unlikely that he will start any more games this season. Coming on when a game is all over is the best that he can hope for .
Good to see Gray get back on the scoresheet. At least we have the potential of a goalscoring backup striker to step in, in Pedro's absence.
Great to see him score tonight but I hope it is not just a flash in the pan, because I can see The Kid wanting to start with him for the rest of the season because of what he did tonight.
I'm rather hoping that he has got the monkey off his back as it were and may be less uptight in front of goal, whether as a starter or as a sub.
We can't drop "king" *shudders* Ken! He's improved so much! He's almost moved up to bang average now...
Founding member of " not Andre Gray's biggest fan " fan club but good for him for getting a brace. Also it was a bit harsh taking him off with 10 to go when he had a chance for a hat trick which would have been even better for his confidence.
Dod anyone else see that Gray is reportedly interested in qualifying to play football for Jamaica? It would be great to have a World Cup star in our squad.
I did see that, the Jamaican FA are interested in calling up a number of British based heritage players including Michail Antonio and Ivan Toney, could potentially have quite a side!
Both said no to what? Is it possible that they've turned down the opportunity for qualifiers or friendly games coming up now, but are still interested at some point?
Hmmm, interesting, I was under the impression Antonio was keen. It's almost certain Toney will be in the Premier League one way or another next season, and I'm sure he'll take to it like a duck to water, absolutely levels above the Championship
I was actually fine with Andre starting today. But two goals in the week should have given him the confidence to bury another easy chance like the one today. 29 years old and he can't keep his eye on the ball to sidefoot home from 6 yards. It's looking like Wycombe was another blip in an otherwise outstandingly horrific season from him.
Should get an assist for that. Sadly that's all he did today. Waiting to see a better view of his header 1st half. My boy reckons it's straight of his face. Sorry but he should hang his head from that effort from Kikos delivery.
I want Andre to succeed, not because I have good time for him, or that he is a decent bloke (never met him, so I have no idea), but because he plays for Watford. The miss today tells a lot. Firstly, most strikers (amateur or professional) would have dealt with that cross with the words “I am going to score again” racing through their heads. Particularly if they had scored two in the previous game. All that seems to have gone through Andre’s head as the ball approached was “Oh Sh!t, what I am supposed to do? I’m not left footed. What if I sky it over the bar from two yards out? Bo!!ix, the balls gone past.” Secondly, the forwards coach in the club needs to work with him in clearing his head and practicing the skill of allowing the ball to hit your foot from two yards out to score, every time you get the chance. I feel a little guilty for being harsh on Gray, but he had the opportunity to make 30 minutes of my day a little less uncomfortable.
A footballer shouldn't have a weaker foot from 6 yards out. Literally all he had to do was connect with the ball properly even if it was his shin or ankle. Him scoring two sitters against rock bottom Wycombe means **** all if he's going to keep wasting chances from six yards out. He's missed a number of chances like the one he had yesterday, he's ******* hopeless. Hopefully Isaac takes his place soon because Perica is looking just as woeful as Gray.
Completely and utterly gash, has been for years. Has no place in the side if Pedro is fit. His contract end can't come soon enough.
Well if he hadn't scored against Wycombe a tame draw and a downbeat forum would have potentially ensued. And the 'outstretched chance' he had didn't cost us yesterday so no damage done the 3 points were picked up. And if he had scored again, what would that mean for Pedro going forward? Gray not continuing to score at least means Pedro returns back up front when the midfielders are back, and Gray as backup, which I prefer tbh.
