I found that it's best to adopt an immediate hatred for him. It saves an awful lot of time. Unspeakably vile.
Agreed. There is a typo in my original post. It should read that I would be very unhappy if we had the same type of tactic. Just clarifying in case there was any confusion.
He has got pace though, surely more than most defenders? Everyone is saying Kelly had him in his pocket, but, what do most left backs do in most games of football, though? Unless you’re extremely lucky they don’t completely vacate their position and leave your teammates free reign to spray balls down that side of the pitch for your right winger to run on to. It’s pretty basic stuff for a right winger to receive the ball, and for a left back to be in close proximity and for the right winger to be in a position where the left back is standing between them and the goal and the touch line. But Sarr almost exclusively never tries to beat the left back for pace in this situation, but I’m pretty sure I see wingers try and do this multiple times a game in most games of football, especially if they’re particularly fast players.
We got BOREMUFFED. Horrible game and it needs to be put to bed asap. The most concerning was our lack of response after going one down.
Yeah, this is very confusing/hard to explain, particularly when you look at what he can do in instances like JP's goal against Derby. It's almost like he's decided whether he's 'on' or not before the match begins, and that's it.
I don’t want to think about 21/22. Can’t believe Deeney has 1 or 2 years left due to some unannounced extension.
I now await the inevitable summons to answer the charge of not controlling our players; whilst Muff receive no such sanction. We might even get a points deduction for getting Wilshere sent off.
Gosling knew. He seemed burning with rage at their cheating antics, like he was glad to be free from the academy of diving and having to be associated with that sort of s**t.
People saying they're pleased we showed a bit of 'fight' at the end, but all it showed that our heads had gone, genuinely don't know whether JP deliberately kicked out as he had slipped just before, but as funny as it is, it's not a good look from our perspective
No chance, I don't know if it were deliberate because of the way he slipped just before, but it's not the kind of decision that gets rescinded
Yeah, but from a standing start, he can't exploit that pace as before he gets any momentum, he's blocked or tackled. We massively overpaid for a simple, pacy winger with average crossing ability, no close control and no real X factor.
You're right Hoggy, they say "Don't get mad, get even!" but we never learn do we, fall for their antics time and again, makes me mad!
To be fair, I'd prefer 10 red cards, than the meek acceptance we have been used to in defeat for the past 2 years. Ok, there's no practical benefit but at least it shows the squad care and have gained some balls.
This is going to be unpopular but: a lot of today was our fault. We're supposed to be a team of professionals: you get fouled you walk away and you don't retaliate. Because when you retaliate you're the one who gets booked. I think a clear message could have been sent by the ref talking to both captains when Sarr(?) got away with a two-handed shove after he was subjected to a series of trips and kicks from two 'Muff Divers. This is not any way deflecting from the 'Muff Divers gamesmanship they are/were a disgrace. It appears the 'magic' form my previous purchases of the Hive with today's £9.98 contribution to Murdoch. TBF to the sky team they didn't hold back on their criticism of his 'performance'.
just looked at the last 10 years, 90 seems to be the point when promotion is guaranteed (nobody in the last 10 years has scored 90+ and not got auto promotion) , but that would mean 10 winds out of the next 13
But that's my point, we did go down with a whimper really, Begovic only had to make one save all game, and we never really threatened as soon as the goal went in, kicking out at the opposition and getting into fights doesn't make it any more likely that we'll get back into the game
I don’t think auto promotion is gone yet. If Norwich win tomorrow I think they will take 1 place, I think it’s between us Brentford, and Swansea for the 2nd. Swansea have 2 games in hand but they have to convert those to points. I would say the chance of promotion automatically is 50:50. Brentford are only 1 win above us, wish the goal difference was a bit closer but we are where we are. It’s interesting that the last two games are Brentford away and then Swansea at home
We had an off day, yes, but a team who reacts to that with anger and disappointment is far preferable to me than the shoulder shrugging, or beaming grins and back slapping with the opposition we have been used to.
yep it’s kind of bad the way reacted at the end, but I’m glad the team did react, shows the team cared that they lost. Just need to get back to winning ways on Wednesday
Agreed, like a lot of games this season we’ve struggled to get control of a game being poor in final third. Lost count of times we’ve had a lucky break by getting a penalty or something bouncing our way. Today was one of those days where we could still be playing and nothing is gonna go our way, but to see fight and frustration was a lot better than the pointing fingers and back patting and smiles with the opposition Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A lesson that we need to grow a pair, be stronger & wiser If you're facing a team who are game managing then you need to wise up & find away round it As for the game, simply not good enough today, didn't create enough and had no plan once they stopped the supply to Sarr & Sema. As for the goal, a complete switch off from the defence and horrendous positioning from Bachmann. He should never get beaten at his near post from that angle
I never thought so either, but I’m reading comments that you can appeal the suspension. ( not sure how correct this is) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I disagree to a point,we should have scored before they did and after. TC should have chipped the keeper and Sarr gone far post as he did at Stoke. If you consider it is a top seven. The six in the places plus Cardiff,we have to play five. Budgies,Bees, Royals and Bluebirds have four. Swans three and silky, gentle, unassuming little AFC B have two. I don't know what I'm alluding to other than it is within our hands. I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not but it's going to seem like an age before we discover.
2nd time this week he’s been beat at the front post. However today as well as being caught flat footed like the defence (could argue they were in transition thinking they had the ball) not anticipating they had the free kick. Also I think the shot was slightly scuffed Bachman thinking better contact and the shot would come across him. Up to that point Bachman was my motm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Completely agree with this. If it was down to me I would pre empt a war of words, with whoever Muffs manager is, over their dubious activities and practices. Big up the referee by saying he is a quality official who will not be taken in by any skullduggery. Basically mark his card . Then when the cheating, diving, play acting or thuggery starts our players remind the referee of how good he is as opposed to getting involved with Muffs Wimbledon '88 based nonsense.
True. Sarr's pace should be enough to have players on toast at this level. Knock the ball a couple of yards and sprint. It's a simple game
However control what you can control . We cannot control Bournemouth's behaviour or cheating players. We cannot control officials who drop clangers , why did Muff get the FK leading to their goal ?. But we can control getting caught by a ball over the top or being beaten at the near post .
100% A friend once enquired to a very dubious opponent,in the hearing of the umpire and line judges, whether she was going to be up to her tricks of trying to con the officials by influencing their calls. Worked a treat, the opponent was meek and mild and my friend won comfortably.
