Just shows you can have a coach with limited ability if you let the players play there part on the pitch that they play in by letting the shackles off ,what a tin pot league this is ,6 shots on target 6 goals and no deeney in sight ,17 games To go COYH
Sad thing where we have to 'give credit' to a manager for picking his best XI... When I saw that team, it did cross my mind that it might have been a final **** you like Huddersfield away with Ivic, but since Deeney supposedly has a knock, let's see if he has the balls to keep a side like that going forward...
Deeney doesn’t have a knock, he was dropped. Deeney has told us many time himself in the past that he’s played with an injury. So it’s nonsense that he has a knock.
Apparently they have mentioned on the Athletic that Deeney didn’t warm up with the subs at anytime this afternoon, either he has a knock (in which case why was he on the bench) or he was royally p-s-ed off at being dropped!
According to Leventhal, Deeney wasn't fit so was never going to play. I'm not convinced anything has changed yet.
You simply cannot change the team after a 6-0 victory. It is not even up for debate. Hard luck Troy, welcome to being over 30 and not scoring a goal from open play. If he or Gray were to be reinstated it would be worse than continuing to select them. Never mind boycotting The Hive,if this happens I shall chain myself to the GT statue in my snake costume. Twaddle.
Quite. We've seen time and again the Championship is about momentum. Would be crazy to change the system/personnel after the first really decent performance of the whole season. Also, it's a no-brainer for Xisco. If he picks the same team and we lose, fans will be a lot more forgiving than if he changes it back and we do.
Yep, it's so simple even this idiot can't get it wrong. The same team needs to play on Tuesday. Chalobah was horrific but we were 4-0 up at half time so he plays. I fear at the very least he's going to use his Pedro/Gray rotation card and start Gray.
3 games in a little over 6 days though ? He can't play the same 11 3 times in that short a period of time - must surely rotate some ?
Precisely. Presuming there are no injuries, the coaching staff make training very light and make it about the technical aspects. Players of any sport would much rather play then train. They all have the GPS or whatever it's named so that can be called upon. Possibly substitute Dan Duck for NC but Freddie and JP are lads so they won't be tired.
Wouldn't say no to him joining and helping Munoz out. I loved Eustace as a player but I don't see the point of going from one inexperienced guy to another.
Don't think there'll be too many changes for Preston, most of our main players have at least had some form of rest over the last few games (apart from Sarr who just seems to play every game...unlucky Zinckernagel!). Hope he doesn't bench JP, that's all I'll say!
Now has the joint highest win % of any gaffer in our history, level with Joka. Made a fair few mistakes but can't really argue with the results, overall. Glad we've seemingly given him time to figure out and work on the best system.
You may be right. But he terrifies me when he nearly lets the gsme slip by taking ogf two of the 3 midfielders who have run the game.
Agree, I didn't like those changes. Can see the logic though in protecting Hughes (on a yellow) and Chalobah (1 yellow away from missing Blackburn and Bournemouth).
In hindsight he could've left one of them on, but at the same time he didn't see the Ekong error coming and the anxiety that followed.
Well, this is what happens when you get rid of Capoue and then wait until deadline day to replace him with Gosling, and in the meantime lose Garner, if we continued playing with 2 in the midfield, we'd manage to give them a bit of rest, but as it is, we're playing with a 3, so unfortunately in game changes are a necessity
Hope Chalobah can avoid picking up a yellow until the limit moves to 15, because although it would give him a much-needed rest, we'd really be creaking then
It seemed to me that tonight WH and TC were doing most of the tackling,to reduce the possibility of NC being booked. Would be sensible.
Maybe to close out games we could of gone 4231 with wilmot and Gosling in there so as to give Hughes clev and chalobah a break
Maybe chalobah will get booked against Bournemouth as the two games he will miss are wycombe and forest
I wonder if this is why Wilmot hasn't started a game at centre back for ages? Played a bit at left-back off the bench too, shame, because he's probably the defender with the biggest upside, but he's also a useful option off the bench to play in a number of positions
